Notes/Commercial Description:
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard we have fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were experimenting with variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a big surge of fruity aromatics and grapefruit-hoppy notes, the flavor of this complex, straw-colored ale tapers off to a peppery, dry finish.

12 oz bottle dated best by 3/8/2014

Tank 7 pours with quite a bit of carbonation and head, but this may be due to an aggressive pour; I don't remember it being quite this lively the first couple of times around. The color of this brew is somewhere between golden and copper, with quite a bit of sediment throughout the liquid; again, probably because of an overly aggressive pour. The scent of this beer comes through strong in the humulus arena, but yeast also plays a starring role. The flavor is also lots and lots of citrusy hops along with strong notes of bubblegum that comes straight out of the Belgian IPA handbook. This beer is not playing around, strong flavors all around don't necessarily make a beer great, but these flavors are fantastic. I cannot wait to pop open my bottle of Saison-Brett, but I may be able to hold of for a few months to let it develop that funk I think I would really love in this brew.

Served from the bottle into a globed glass

A- Poured a very bright hazy golden color with big fluffy bright white head that left glass coating dense lace.

S- Very fresh and powerful aroma. Big lemon, bready malts, floral, grassy, sweet orange peel, and coriander. A very slight funk and tropical fruit in the aroma as well. This is so aromatic and fresh, I love it.

T- Big yeasty, doughy clove, bubblegum, lemon, tropical fruit, juicy orange, and orange peel notes. Very fresh tasting saison.

M- Very refreshing and dry, high carbonation, effervescent, and a little creamy. Pretty mouthfeel and drinkability for a saison.

O- This is a top notch saison. One of the best I have ever had. This beer has it all- perfect appearance and mouthfeel, huge complex aroma. big flavor profile, and very refreshing. Bravo Boulevard!

Hazy yellow with a thin white head

Smells citrusy and floral

Tastes citrusy with some tropical fruit and spice. There is a slight bitterness throughout.

MF-Crisp and refreshing. Slight carbonation and very drinkable.

Overall- Great saison. Nice beer for year round drinking. I have seen this beer in stores for a while and I am glad I finally tried it.
