Notes/Commercial Description:
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard we have fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were experimenting with variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a big surge of fruity aromatics and grapefruit-hoppy notes, the flavor of this complex, straw-colored ale tapers off to a peppery, dry finish.

Very enjoyable beer. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Boulevard chalice (sold as a variety 4-pack including the glass)

Pours a deep gold liquid with a white head. Slight haze which is a good sign.

Aroma is fresh with some hops and spices.

Flavor is complex. Fairly dry. A little bit of lingering tartness and medium levels of hop bitterness. A little bit of citrus fruit and maybe a little bit of Jewish rye bread.

Very nice and smooth mouthfeel. Perfect level of carbonation to keep the flavor dancing on the tongue.

Final pour is nice with lots of yeast in the bottle. I pour the yeast in the glass because I think it makes the last drink better. Lots of breadyness.

Overall, I like this beer a lot. I need to drink Boulevard more often.

Grading this beer was hard. This is a very competitive style. This beer was is just shy of being world-class. (compared to other Farmhouse ales).

This is one of my favorite beers for the end of a long day (or any day, really). A beautiful clear golden color, lots of bubbles, persevering foam, crisp carbonation, a blend of sweet and pleasantly acrid flavors in the background. Not much to complain about here!

Miraculous!! Either a freak of nature, or most likely an exquisitely designed brew.. Nevertheless, I am extremely impressed.... uitstekend!!!...

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass.

A: Golden color with nice 2 finger white head. Nice retention with some lacing.

S: Citrus with some yeast and grassy notes. A little bit of funk but pleasant.

T: Lots of citrus with slight hops and breads.

M: Nice carbonation, and crisp flavors. A bit dry at the end.

O: Nice Saison. I will get this one again...

Appearance - Poured slowly in a tulip. An off-white, frothy 3-inch head sat above the clear golden yellow brew. A ton of bubbles were visible rising from the bottom of the glass. Some lacing was left along the sides of the glass as well.

Smell - I could smell this as soon as I put the glass down after pouring. A combination of three flavors come to the nose: spice, fruit, and bread. First, the fruity flavors come through with grapefruit and lemon. This is then followed by a peppery spice. Lastly, a touch of breadiness.

Taste - Not as flavorful as the aroma, but the same qualities come through. The grapefruit, lemon, and pepper are present, but again, not as strong as the aroma. Still a great farmhouse ale.

Mouthfeel - Very carbonated, has a champagne type quality. Light to medium body. No bitterness at all.

Overall - One of favorite saisons/farmhouse ales. A great craft brew from a great craft brewery. Well done, Boulevard.
