Notes/Commercial Description:
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard we have fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were experimenting with variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a big surge of fruity aromatics and grapefruit-hoppy notes, the flavor of this complex, straw-colored ale tapers off to a peppery, dry finish.

The beer poured a vey hazy light to medium gold. A two finger high, white creamy head builds and sicks arround for a while. Very good lacing after dissipating.
The smell is pineapple, grapefruit nd some earthy hops.
Tasting the beer, the fruit flavors are up front, especially the grapefruit taste dominates into the middle, where it is picked up by some earthy hops. The finish adds some malt into the palette.
Overall a very good brew! Ths is my second beer from this brewery, and I am very pleased. I will be looking for more.

Poured a nice hazy gold colored body with very little visibility even though its a light colored beer. Thick and creamy 2 finger head with good retention. Smells of small hints of pint, grapefruit, and some earthyness. The fruit aromas are of strong resin. Taste? Well, delicious to say the least. Nice hoppy taste with a sweetness to even things out. Tropical fruits add a nice touch to the palate. Nice flow from start to finish. Finishes with a tangy kick. Creamy mouthfeel from start to finish.
Overall this is a very tasty beer. Wish i had purchased more then just 1. Price is not bad either for how good this is. I've seen this style of beer go for twice as much, with half the quality.

12oz : tulip

Pours a hazy golden with a thick, foamy white head with great retention.

Sweet, lightly citric fruit, saison yeast.

Similar to the nose, with a lightly sweet, and citric fruit notes upfront backed by a solid yeast profile.

Medium body, prickly, bubbly carbonation.

An enjoyable, well done saison.

Appearance- I poured a bommer into a snifter and the result was a hazy blond colors with a thick white 2 finger head that looks like it will hang around to the end. The body looks a lot like a german heff with a little more carbonation. No complaints. Very nice looking beer.

Smell- The citrus came through first followed by flowers and the pepper. There is a lot going on here with the nose. The smells that come through is pretty and intense but It does not really smell like beer to me.

Taste- The taste is even more intese that the smell. Strong citrus up front followed by a peppery bite and for me it was pretty boozy on the back. As the beer warmed and I drank more I was getting more and more of that hot alcohal tast that kind of made it hard to drink for me. The beer is complex but lacks balace in my opinion. There is nothing in the flavor profile that really tells me its beer.

Mouthfeel- medium body with more carobonation that expected.

Overall-I was not real impressed with the taste and have no real desire to drink this beer again. The main problem I had with this beer was it was more like drinking champagne or sparkeling white wine than beer. I dont really like wine which stands to reason why I did not like this beer. It looks like my opinion is in the minority so by all means try it out for yourself. If you like champagne or fruity wines this may be the beer for you.

Pours a hazy light straw color with a huge white frothy three finger head. Smells of Belgian yeast, egg shells, pepper, and mild citrus. First sip is super refreshing with a great hop profile that has a tangy grapefruit and honey character that blends nicely with the light earthy malts. So very drinkable as the 8% ABV is well hidden and a tad high for the style. This is one refreshing brew and I can drink a lot of these.

A clouded dark straw colored brew, a white high head, little lacing but good curtains.

Smelling spicy, cloves, coriander, cardamom, vinegar, grape-fruit juice, some toffee and a metallic hint.

Starting with sweet fructose notes, oranges, grape-fruit peel and the aromatic spices.

Medium carbonation, foamy bubbles, a big body, a dry finish.

A very nice and modern old ale. Fabulous with a casserole.

12 oz bottle, best by 5-22-14. Poured into a Boulevard Smoke Stack Glass. Reviewed live 2/11/2014.

A - Hazy pumpkin orange, one and a half finger rocky white head. Solid lacing.

S - Blast of citrus fruit esters and hop. Tangerine bubblegum too.

T - Lemon peel and Belgian esters over a hay back bone. Very pronounced flavor, with little to no alcohol present.

M - High carbonation but not too much. Light bodied with a dissipating finish. Very refreshing.

O - One of my favorite American interpretations of the style.
