Notes/Commercial Description:
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard we have fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were experimenting with variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a big surge of fruity aromatics and grapefruit-hoppy notes, the flavor of this complex, straw-colored ale tapers off to a peppery, dry finish.

Hazy straw colored in appearance. A half inch layer of foam across the top of the glass. Smell that wonderful Belgian yeast strain. Perhaps a bit of candy sugar in the scent. Biscuity malt with some pine like Pacific hops in the aftertaste. Sort of European style meets modern American brewing. Moderate thickness on the mouthful. Deceptively smooth for the strength.

12 oz bottle into tulip. best before 12/13.

A: massive frothy white head on a straw, hazy body. fantastic retention and great plumes of lacing left behind.

S: black peppercorns. a very minor funk. starts stronger, but seems to dissipate with time. transitions to sweet unfermented sugars that remind me a lot of a Belgian tripel.

T: this thing tastes floral. sweet fruit, pear. the wheat hits smack dab in the middle. a hefty dose of grain finishes it off with a minor alcohol heat. really good drink from start to finish. a bit bigger than your typical saison, but when it goes down this smooth it is alll gooodd.

M: zesty carb on a medium, almost full body.

D: really good stuff from boulevard here. definitely one of their staples as it should be. a bit of a bigger saison but definitely not raw or undrinkable. pick some up if you have it in your distro.
