Poured from a 750ml bottle into a Jester King Funk and Sour Fest glass, which is something between a tulip and a snifter.
Bottle dated 2012, Best by June 2013. Whoops. Let's see if this one ages well.
Appearance: Large, loose foamy off-white head that sticks around for a while. Leaves behind a crown and some sparse lacing. The beer itself, an apricot orange color, has a significant amount of sediment, surely a sign of the beer's age.
Smell: Wow. I love this. So much caramel it's ridiculous. Hints of what would best be described as rum. Sweet banana coming through as well. I'd like to say this smells about as much like bananas foster as a beer could. Maybe some hints of almond and tart, dried apricot in here too? Sweet smells all around.
Taste: The moment of truth. Yeah, this is sweet. I get a little bit of floral character, perhaps from the faded hops. Sweet tropical fruits here too. A bit watered down. The flavor is all at the front end of the sip, as soon as the carbonation fades, so does all the flavor. What's left is a weak, watered-down honey flavor. Not bad, but I wish it weren't watered down.
WELP, just spilled the entire glass on my feet and rug. Good thing I've got 750ml of this stuff. Head is thicker and creamier on the second pour.
Mouthfeel: A mildly hot beer, the alcohol character is certainly pronounced. Creamy texture, carbonation isn't particularly strong. It coats the mouth on the way down.
Overall: I look forward to trying the next batch of this stuff fresh. If this is exemplary of the style, I'd love to try more of them. If you see it on the shelf, don't turn away from it. It's a solid beer even if it *is* past it's best-by date. Once you pour it, make sure you're very aware of where your coffee table begins and ends too. Your rug won't appreciate it as much as you will.

Poured into a Funky Buddha Brewery snifter. Back label says Best By 6-2013. Didn't even think to check the date when I bought it.
A- Pours a medium amber color with a full inch of off-white head that retains very well before slowly dropping to a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a full sheet of surface foam.
S- Yeasty, spicy aroma with lots of fruity phenols. Little hints of butterscotch and other candy-like smells.
T- Tangy and sweet wheat with a noticeable alcohol taste. Still, pretty smooth and drinkable but the promising aroma has lead to a not-so-exciting flavor. More candy notes like in the smell but the booze takes away from their character.
M- Medium-high carbonation makes for a spritzy quality which I always like but the alcohol bite slightly stings the back of the throat. The body leans toward the lighter side.
O- I think I'm starting to dislike wheat wines more than I have in the past. It seems like it's a style you really have to nail to be enjoyable yet I haven't had enough examples frequently enough to know what needs to be achieved. Guess I'll just have to keep trying different ones out.

750 ml bottle was poured into a wine glass.
Appearance: This beer poured a three finger head that reduced to a small puffy late. It is a hazy orange color with some clarity and tiny bubbles coming up through the glass. Nice lacing on the glass as the beer was drank.
Smell: Caramel, wheat, fruity, citrus, tropical, oak, floral, and grassy.
Taste: Caramel, vanilla, toffee, citrus, tropical, oak, wheaty, fruity, and delicious
Mouthfeel: Smooth, a little bitter,a little dry, malty, fruity, chewy, medium bodied, and medium to high carbonation.
Overall: This wheatwine is very delicious, enjoyable, and tasty. Makes me want more.
