Boulevard's Dark Truth Stout, from their Smokestack series. 9.7% ABV.
A: Black, with dark brown in the dimple. Looks to be sediment, but it's hard to see. Plenty of lacing. Lots of tan head! About 3+ fingers of it (probably more if I hadn't ran out of room in the glass)!
S: Wow! The nose is very light for a stout. Seems to be more in the powdered cocoa/chocolate range. Some slight caramel and sea salt notes. With just the faintest hint of liquorice in the background.
T/MF: It's actually pretty smooth. Very dark chocolate, with some char notes. Some softer malt notes. Almost malt ball like, but not quite.
After the complexity of the Sixth Glass, this ones slightly underwhelming, but a good solid stout for everyday drinking.
Poured from a 12 oz. bottle, into a Belgian tulip glass.
