750 ml bottle poured into a Smokestack tulip. Huge creamy head challenged the rim of the glass. I was sure I was going to have a spill over for a second. The head had great staying power and took many minutes for it to drop down to a drinking level. Body color is a dark amber with tight bubble formations. It gives the appearance of sediment.
As soon as the cork pops there is a rush of dry chocolate nibs. After the pour the chocolate becomes more malty and milk chocolatey. Taste follows as a dry bitter chocolate. What is interesting is that I do pick up a slight citrus note in the finish from the wheat malt.
Mouthfeel is a lot lighter compared to the flavor and aroma. Usually something with intense flavor is a lot heavier. There is a light powdery grit that intensifies the chocolate flavor.
