Cloudy orange with yellow highlights with huge white foamy head that clumps with craggy lacing. Medicinally herbal and yeasty pepper aroma. Herbal salty bread with a light hop profile. Elements of sage and citrus with a light sweetness finishes dry and peppery. Evolves some orange peel and lemongrass and more fruity esters as yeast is more involved. Sharp biting feel evolves a little more body.
I loved Conflux 2 and was eager to try this one out. Right off the bat…I hated this one. VapoRub and salty herbal taste dominated and it wasn't too good looking either. I was really expecting more and thought since this had a longer best by date I thought perhaps it needed some aging. But then as more of the yeast came into play all the flavors became more pronounced, subtly nuanced, and any unpleasant flavors mellowed. My taste score moved from 2.5 to 3 and finally to 4.5. Quite a range. The aroma didn’t improve much. Unfortunately, as I finally started to enjoy it, I reached the end of the bottle. Out of the bottle Conflux 2 is easier, sufficiently complex, and highly enjoyable. This is more of a sipping, highly complex, and eventually satisfying beer. I may have to get another and tip the bottle before serving… and maybe be a little more patient.

Pours a pale golden colour with a bit of cloud; off-white head sticks around nicely. Lacing is gorgeous. Looks great.
Smells interesting. Citric, tangy with a touch of sour. Lemon, some grapefruit and mild phenolic notes at the back. Rindy, but fruity. Quite pleasant.
Creamy upfront with light vanilla notes, then lots of tangy fruit. Lemon with a slight vinegar acidity as well, cidery and slightly woody, touch of buttery Chardonnay on the back. Zippy and refreshing, a lot of tang but doesn't lean too heavy on the bitterness. Really enjoyable.
Smooth mouthfeel, but a bit of bitter puckering on the back, which is unnecessary.
Great quenching Summery beer. Delicious.
