As a brewing team, we sought to make an India Pale Ale that showcased assertive hop flavor and aroma while maintaining a thirst-quenching drinkability by balancing the bitterness with a slight caramel malt character. A blend of our base pale, Marris Otter, and amber malts creates a simple, yet adequate malt backbone that allows Mosaic, Cascade, Amarillo, Citra, and Centennial hops to shine with bright, fruity, citrus notes. At 4.2% ABV and 41 IBUs, Pop-Up I.P.A. is a full flavored beer that’s suitable for all-day drinking.

A - Pours a deep straw color with lots ad lots of carb. Bubbles rolling up from everywhere. It has a 1 finger quick to form fluffy white head with excellent head retention and very nice looking lacing

S - Lots of lemon and other citrus. I really like the ruby red grapefruit aromas. The aroma is all citrus style west coast hops!

T - Very similar to the smell. Lots of lemon and grapefruit, with other milder citrus aroma hidden and more subtle. It even has a slight pine finish

M - Very smooth and slick. Easy drinking with no burn

O - Good sessionable IPA. Nothing over the top but very drinkable with a pleasant flavor. Low bitterness but lots of citrus. Would be a good beer to drink by the pool or floating down the river!

Very large head that recedes in a lumpy fashion. Some chunky spots on the glass. Dark gold color and clear.

Mostly hop smell that is like pine needles and soft spring flowers.

There's a dry berry (raspberry?) flavor. The hop is the story of this beer. The swallow brings out a grapefruit. Light on the body with a raised level of bubbles. Prickly aftertaste with a decent amount of lingering in the throat.
