Has the most expansive selection I’ve ever personally experienced. I go here about once a month to stock up. They have a lot of rare and hard to find stuff but obviously the price reflects that. Good store, nice folks. One gentleman helped me out recently after seeing what I had and recommended me something that hadn’t hit shelves yet and was able to get it for me after seeing I would most likely be interested in it, so I was appreciative of that.

Was greeted upon entry, excellent craft beer selection, well organized, incredible selection of spirits in all price ranges and varietals including the biggest single barrel selection I think I've ever seen

Visited yesterday with my two bros back for a family reunion. I also visited back in 2011 when i was in town for a class reunion.

Vibe was OK, smaller store that is filled to the gills with beer, wine, and liquor products.

Quality of the products was good, lots of high end stuff such as the Deschutes high end series.

Service was good as we were asked several times if we needed assistance.

Selection was very good as i suspect Opperman's gets distribution for all major brews in the region and even nationally. There were many Michigan brewers represented, i suspect some of the better ones given the ratings on BA as i was surveying the selections.

I had a nice conversation with a gentleman working there...he spoke of the bottle share club he belongs to and indicated the club will go thru $1000 worth of brew in an afternoon session...he definitely was very knowledgeable.

Young guy(20-30) that I talked to "seemed" well versed in craft beer and was helpful in finding my Dogfish Head selection, but not very talkative and had no suggestions about new products that fit what I was looking for. Overall, the store is good and has a very good selection for our area.

Cork N Ale is by far the best bottle shop in Saginaw. The staff is just okay (The big bald guy was outstanding but he has since left). Now they have a couple of younger guys who dont know much about Craft Beer.
*Edit- Staff is very much improved. Not super outgoing , but if you take the time to ask they are very helpful.

The biggest need for improvement is their singles selection. It would be very benificial if they would offer a lot more singles and not up-charge for them. Take the cost of the 6er divide by 6 and charge that price. I was told they round up to make it easy on cashiers but it is VERY offputting for the "regular customers". Singles sell future 6 packs.
*Edit- Much bigger selection of singles, but they still up charge on most offerings.

They get good beer and do take suggestions if you are interested in a certain beer.

They need to hire a true Beer Advocate to run their beer department. They would not only be top notch for wine but beer also.
*Edit- This is still the case, they would be much better off with a true Beer Manager.

I have driven by the store many times, but finally decided to make the stop. Most of the beer is on shelves, but there is a decent cooler selection as well. Some of the beers that come to mind are Unibroue, Ommegang, Bell's, Founders, Dark Horse, Rogue, Goose Island, etc. There was a very good import section. One of the most surprising finds was Bourbon County Stout, which I have not seen anywhere else in the state. The service was fine, A lot of the beer prices were not marked and I had to ask them how much certain beers were. Prices were about right. Overall, the best beer store for the area.

Definitely a regular stop for me, Great Place and Great Staff.

They have a very large selection of Beer, Wine and Brewing Supplies, About 600 different kinds of beer to choose from, lots of Michigan Beer to choose from (Founder's, Bells, etc). I love the selection of Belgian beers, also something new to try. This is were I FINALLY got to buy Founder's Kentucky Breakfast Stout and was glad to pay $16.49 for a 4 pack.

Very helpful and informed staff, always nice and pleasant to deal with.

Prices are reasonable in my opinion, I have seen more expensive in other "Beer" stores.

My only problem with The Cork N' Ale is that they carry Bud/Miller and other Crap companies products, but hey it's Michigan and most of our population likes that garbage.

Also they hold a Beer tasting twice a year and it is a great time.

Defnitely the best beer and wine store in the area BY FAR.

Opperman's Cork 'N' Ale is located in Saginaw not too far from I-75. It's on a highway so you have to make sure you know roughly where it is so you don't cruise by. They have a pretty good-sized side lot for parking.

The store seems to be pretty evenly divided between "cork" and "ale". On the immediate left of the entrance is homebrew supplies. Beer can be found in six-packs and bombers in a cooler along the left wall and on shelves in the middle of the store.

As for the beer selection it is pretty good. Lots of local/regional beers such as Fletcher Street, Michigan Brewing, Dark Horse, Bell's (of course) etc. I noticed several one-offs and limited-edition bombers here and there too from both regional brewers and more well-known breweries. Unfortunately you cannot mix and match singles so be prepared to drop some coin if you want to try a lot of different beers.

Service here is good too. Despite not bending the rules on mixing singles, the proprietor was promoting an upcoming beer tasting and was helpful in pointing out area brewpubs.

Overall this store is a nice find in one of the more sparsely populated areas of the state. Definitely worth a side trip to find some beers you can't get elsewhere.

Stopped by the Cork n' Ale while doing some muzzleloading hunting in the area. I found out about this place on BA's beeerfly. For being in the middle of nowhere, this is a gem of a find. A very nice, clean and organized store. Lots of fine wines, cheeses, and homebrewing supplies, not to mention a great variety of local micro brewed beers.(Founders,Bells,NewHolland,MI.Brew.Co.,Dark Horse,Dragonmead,Jolly Pumpkin) They have a whole aisle of micro brews(warm) and about six coolers devoted to nothing but beer. The only down side is that you cannot break up six packs. Overall the prices seem to be reasonable. I told my hunting buddy we have to stop by everytime we hunt and pick up a few treats from the Cork N' Ale. Definetely recommened!!!

By far the best beer store in the area. They also stock wines in numbers you can not believe along with liquor and homebrew supplies. Great gift pack selections and I will be taking my shopping trip for the holiday pretty soon. To the beer, wow, that sums it up, if it is available in the State of Michigan, it is probably on the shelf there, Michigan Micros, other micros, Belgians, other imports, incredible. Staff is super, very knowlegeable of product and willing to assist you if you need it, they know their stuff. As with any place with a large selection, watch the dates on what you're buying and you will enjoy the experience.

I know by far the best selection of beer in the Tri-cities always go there when home visiting, right on M-47 and Shattuck RD.Seem to have more wine than beer but the owner and the people he has working there put alot of time and effort into beer,I have been there in the past when they had Michigan micro tastings with reps from Arcadia,New Holland, and K-zoo brewing there to answer questions and give out free samples. Most Michigan micros and a great selection of harder to find English ales are found here, like Harvey's Tom Paine for one,a huge selection for the area when within a decent distance of Saginaw make a trip its worth it.
