Pours out to a copper-ish amber with a cream colored head that subsides quickly.

Smell is light but I can pick out some hints of apple and pear. Quite nice.

Taste is slightly spicy with a good bit of maltiness. Long sweet and bready finish.

Mouthfeel is watery with not much in the way of carbonation. It also tastes a bit more alcoholic than I expected. (Although that in itself is not necessarily a bad thing.)

Drinkability is about average. However, I would say that at the price I got these at, these are actually quite good for making beer bread. Maybe I'll get some again and pour out half for bread, half to drink while I make it.

When I was in college, this was our drink of choice at the local Irish pub- it was only $1!! I'm usually a lite beer type of person, but I definitely enjoyed this. I haven't tried many Irish ales, but as far as they go, I'd probably stick with this one- the taste was crisp and went down easily. I don't recall ever noticing a particular smell about it, but the taste was definitely something that has stuck with me nearly a year later.

A: amber colour, small head

S: malts, some caramel, some peach and chocolate

T: Malts, a bit bready, slightly burned, ends a bit too sweet

M: slightly overcarbonated, no dryness at all

O: I wouldn't mind drinking it again, there's nothing really bad about it. But it isn't particularly good about it
