The saucer is a tradition in Ft. Worth. I've been to several and this one has its pluses & minuses, although more of the former than the latter. Great selection, as defined by the confines of the Texas legally-mandated distributor monopoly system. Probably 60 on tap & another 80 bottled, they do a good job of keeping up with the selections available here. A great spot to try Rahr beers, a local Ft. Worth micro with consitently well-executed choices. Food is definitely above average, I recommend the chicken caesar wrap and the kick-ass chicken sandwich. Prices are reasonable, with the exception being the fire sale, which is a bargain at $2.50. One beer per day on fire sale but all Texas pints on fire sale on Sundays & most all drafts (read "no Belgians" here) on fire sale each Monday. Great big overstuffed chairs, not too smoky and reasonably attentive service. I recommend hitting it during the afternoons or early evenings when its less crowded & a bit quieter & more relaxed. A mixed crowd of tourists, beer nerds, and classical concert goers (courtesy of the hall across the street) but they seem to work & play well with others. The outdoor seating is nice, weather permitting, with the upper balcony providing great views of the city. I recommend this place for those with kids (again, afternoons/early evenings) as a good place to relax & enjoy a few pints.
