It's a small little building a mile or so off the Rte 35 exit where I-684 and the Saw Mill River Parkway come together in northern Westchester County. I hadn't been there in years as the Scotty summer parties in Yorktown Heights are sadly no more, but I dropped on in yesterday as I was in the neighborhood.
They house a nice collection of German, English and Belgian beers. It's always good to find the Chouffes', the Fantome ETE, and the beers from Brasserie La Caracole in little beverage centers, as well as an array of Sam Smiths, Fullers, Lindeman's and so on. The micros were impressive as well with a big selection of the standard and not so standard regionals (Otter Creek, Wolaver, Magic Hat, Victory, Dogfish Head, Brooklyn, 3 Floyds, Wagner Valley and a good couple of Smuttynoses to boot.
Good service and decent prices. I scored some $2 Anchors (the 22 ouncers).
Not exactly in the neighborhood for most of us, but it's closer to the Fairfield County, Connecticut line than it is, say... White Plains.

so Katonah Beverage Barn sold everything off and closed only to reopen a month later with what seems to be the same staff.!?!?!? Confusing.... There refrigerated section in the back is gone and when i was in last6 week they seemed to be in restock mode, but what they were getting in was pretty much the same stuff... Good selection of Dogfish Head, Brooklyn, some germans, Belgians, Ommegang, and random others... at least this time around they are putting prices on their bottles, although the bummer is those prices seem even a bit higher than before :( making the prices comprable to some more $$$ city stores

Located in a red "barn" that you could easily drive right past if you didn't know what you were looking for, Katonah Beverage Barn features a whole wall in their small space, dedicated to American craft brews, as well as a decent selection of German and Belgian beers. Despite not having an extremly large selection, almost everything they have is worth buying, and they seem to move stock on a fairly regular basis.
The service is really nothing to speak of, they are cordial and answer quetions but don't really go out of their way at all for you. On my trip in today, two people were complaining about customers, which while I understand how the retail world is, it's always a turn off to listen to people bitch while you are getting ready to pay them for what they're selling.
A pet peeve of mine is that almost none of the beers are priced so you continually have to ask what the cost of items are which grows tiresome for both the cusomter and I'm sure for the sales people.
Their pricing is a bit high. Everything seems to be a buck or two higher than the place I usually go in peekskill. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy beer here but if you are passing through the area it can't hurt to stop in

Directly off route 35 onto Wood Bridge road. First building on the right. It is in a red house, rather than barn. This place may be history in the very near future: a sign on the door says they will close on April 15th due a change in ownership. Will it continue on? The selection was ok but nothing worthy of traveling out of your way for. For immediate locals it should suffice just fine. A descent selection of Belgians and assorted craft beers are present. The shelves were some what empty. Call to see if they are still operating before you try a visit.

My "local", easy to miss this small red building on the right as you go south from rt 35/202 towards Katonah. Just 3 mins off of Highway 684. Good stuff is on right side of store. Good selection of usual micros, also decent variety of Belgian and Germans. Small in size but they do a good job of packing in as much interesting stuff as they can. Friendly and fairly knowledgeable staff, make this place worth coming back to for locals and worth a visit if traveling in the area.

one good point, they take all my empties on the honor system. They don't tell you that they don't sell it so they don't take it. Selection alright, 90% of product not priced, so you never know what it costs. Small cold single selection but usually can find something good, when I only want a beer or two. Saranacs are always well priced. I go there only because they are only 10 minutes from my house. I usually go to, when not driving an hour to Half Time or lugging bottles back from Chrystie Street Distributors, Fairground Liquors in Danbury, Ct.

I was contemplating another exodus to Half Time in Poughkeepsie, but simply couldn't stand making the drive again (will be passing by over the holidays to stock up anyway), so I decided to try Katonah Beverage Barn based on the beerfly recs. The place is less than I imagined, decent selection of belgians, but weak on the US micro front. Lots of 20+ oz beers, without the corresponding little guys. Pretty expensive as well. There are a number of stores closer to me with better selections. Worth hitting if you are in the area, but next time I will endure the extra 45mins to Half Time.

Nice little place I almost missed it, a little red house around the corner. Nice selection of import German and some English ones that I've been looking forward to trying. also they had a good selection of kegs. The service was not that great I could not find the guy to ring me up, but I guess its a small price to pay for a good selection. I will be back!!
