Appearance: yellow with slight orange-hue, white fizzy head, good clarity

Aroma: citrus and pine hit the nostrils first, but then give way to more biscuity pale malt character

Taste: Piney and citrus with biscuity malt character, mine had a slight funk to it though. Possibly a little skunked because it came in a clear glass bottle. Sharp citrus finish that is also a little soapy

Mouthfeel: Light -medium body, fizzy, fairly carbonated

Overall impression: Not great overall. Citrus and pine hop character with biscuity pale malt, but mine was a little skunked and a little soapy tasting. I probably would not buy this again.

Half litre bottle, poured into pint glass. Golden colour, clear, medium head, decent retention + lacing, looked quite lively. Aroma was hoppy citrus. Had a delicate balanced citrus taste with hints of cork and a wheaty finish, good character for the ABV. Crisp body, light texture. Very nice session beer, great to throw back on a hot afternoon.

500ml bottle from Home Bargains (£1.09):
Light golden amber colour with a clear body and a thin, foamy looking, white lacing on top.

Earthy hops and lighter, caramel malts plus some mild fruit and a touch of bitterness towards the end. Quite light and basic on the nose. There was also some light citrus.

Strong malty taste dominating along with some earthy malts from the nose. There are light touches of both caramel and bitterness with a background, light fruity taste.

Smooth with a medium body and mild carbonation along with a bitter and dry finish that is complimented by the faintest of citrus tangs.

Pretty basic and run-of-the-mill pale ale that is a not bad alternative as a weaker, relatively low strength ale but that's about it really. It came across as pretty ordinary with nothing more than some basic malts and earthy hops.

While visiting friends in England, of course we had to try some real ales from hand pump.

Ordered this lower alcohol offering with our meal, proper pint glass, cellar temperature.
Golden yellow color, with a small white cap on top.
Fairly sweet aroma of caramel and or toffee malt. Taste started more on the fruity, sweet side but the hoppiness did come out in the end to balance. Easy drinking blend of biscuit malt and bittering hops. Smooth mouthfeel, good level of carbonation keep it from being to filling.
Lots of flavor and with a low, 3.6% I see how this could easily be consumed regularily and often. Another good English Pale Ale.

12th May 2012 saw me on a pub crawl of Shrewsbury: third pub was ‘The Old Post Office’ and a hand pulled pint of this.

Golden look to it, with a small white crown on top.

Nose was fairly sweet: caramel and toffee being the maltiness I picked up (just like the bottled version).

Bitter more than smooth in the taste and mouth feel, fruit malty biscuits giving some sweetness.

Good depth of flavours and body strength for a 3.6% offering. Better all round than the bottled version.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of July 2012. Picked up cheap from a B&M store in Leeds.

Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. A clear golden colour with low carbonation and some floating particles. Forms a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a couple of minutes before subsiding. Aroma of harsh stewed hops and overcooked veg, accomanied by a faint hint of malt and a significant dose of buttery diacetyl. A sulphurous whiff in the background. Not very impressive.

Tastes of light malt with a harsh bitter finish. Notes of stewed hops, overcooked veg and background diacetyl. Very dry, with considerable bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly. Rather astringent. A harsh bitter aftertaste - the hops are overdone.

Not particularly good. The harsh bitterness is unpleasant, and the light malt doesn't stand up to it. The fairly intense diacetyl is also a glaring flaw. No aromatic hop aromas to round out the character. All in all, not a great ale - give it a miss.

Pours a Golden clear body with nice bold big bubbled white head.

Nice full on aromas of hops, golden syrup, apple peel and slight hints of petrol.

Big hop hits in the taste as well biting and bitter, citrus sharpness and honey tartness, very little in sweet tastes with an understated peppery finish.

Very light feeling and well executed with the carbonation.

Easy drinking, crisp bitter tasting sessionable ale, a little samey though considering how many Pale Ale's Marston's are churning out at the moment.

Deep brown and clear this brew is. Off-white head with little lacing it has.

Smelling weakly of nuts, honey and apples.

The taste has sweet brown bread in the start, then ripe pears, nuts and some fresh grass.

Little carbonation, a watery/refreshing feeling, a small body and a dry finish.

This is the best 3.6% beer I think I have tried - so far.
