500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 6.8%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of malts, grain and newmown grass. The flavour is "clean" with notes of pilsener malts and a touch of caramel, decent herbal bittering hops and some alcohol. Soft mouthfeel.

Pours a clear golden color with a small top of white head that dissolves quickly. Aroma is sweet with notes of bread, toast ,caramel, malts ,grass and spices. The taste follows the nose. Sweet with malty tones in the back with tones of bread and caramel. The finish is actually quite bitter with notes of grassy hops and herbs and with a good lenght on the aftertaste. A little to bitter for i like this style Mouthfeel is crisp and clean with a medium carbonation and a medium body.
A good and interesting bockbier.

L: Nice copper color, not much head. Not the straw yellow that other reviewers have described.
S: Sweet, like malt syrup and burnt sugar, fruity, and bready. Great smell.
T: Tastes much like the smell leads one to expect. Bready and sweet, but with a malty bitterness on the finish that brings a much needed dryness.
M: Fairly light body, a little sticky.
O: A nice German beer. not sure what makes it specifically a Christmas Bock, but I'll take it.

Bottle purchased at Nathaniel Square Corner Store in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a clear straw yellow, with a small head, and a good amount of lacing.

Smells like bready malt, a little bit of honey, and some lager yeast.

I'm not really getting what makes this a "Christmas" bock, but it's still decent, not great. It's got a pretty strong slightly fruity lager yeast character, with minimal hopping, sweet bready yeast, and some honey. There's a little bit of DMS.

This is light bodied, crisp and fruity in the mouthfeel, with a normal level of carbonation.

Not bad, but I've had better bocks for sure.

"The bock is designed to walk a fine line between blandness and too much color." - bjcp

This beer pours lighter than any other bock I have seen. A filmy light amber. Golden yellow with a slight haze.Short head of white creamy foam. Active carbonation.

Nose is mild and has just a bit of vienna malt sweetness on to show you light bread. No hops. Impeccable. No diacteyl, no fruity esters and only a faint hint of dms on the nose from the pils malt. That faint little scent really brings this nose into focus. This is a malty beer.

Taste is fantastic. Plenty of bread with only a mild toastiness. Endless malt without much hop flavor. Only a light kiss from pepper and spice. Light dms from pils malt provides the contrast in this beer. Shows you that delicate vienna malt sweetness, shows you a bit of bread and without introducing too much sweetness to the finish it makes your mouth water so that you can receive the bitterness that's coming. It's moderate but in no way harsh. It will also show you only a trace of the hop herbal and spice. Good carbonation provides a light bite.

Seductive and very enjoyable.

Poured from a 1pt 9oz bottle into a .5l stein.

L: pale golden in color, crystal clear with a fluffly white head. lots of carbonation. quite a nice looking beer yet it seems much paler than some of the other reviews seen here.

S: the smell is outstanding. sweet malt aroma up front with notes of freshly baked bread and milled grain. hops add a beautiful spicy, lemony, slightly peppery aspect. a bit of white grape in there is well. excellent aroma.

T: smooth as silk with a lovely spicy hop finish. the malt bill is quite crisp and fresh. not too sweet at all. aforementioned bread takes over yet a nice addition of herbal hop flavor keeps everything in balance. alcohol is barely noticible yet rounds out the body perfectly. reminiscent of a maibock with an extra hop kick. great stuff.

F: crisp, dry mouthfeel. very good.

O: an excellent winter bock that's worth a try. worth the $6 but not something I'd buy regularly. this beer makes me miss Sierra Nevada Glissade. paired well with some aged sharp cheddar (what beer doesn't?)

L: Pours brilliant chestnut under a 1” creamy white foam collar that retreats to a thick film but leaves extensive lace.
S: Clean bread, malt and spice aromas. No fruit.
T: Malty and toasty with spice and a moderately bitter finish.
F: Medium full body, carbonation is medium low, smooth, no astringency.
O: A flavorful, easy to drink bock with some substance and complexity.

Poured from the bottle into a tall Libbey style pilsner glass.

A rust colored pale and yellow brown. Quite light but slightly murky, real different amount of hues to the glass all up and down. Topped with a gorgeous colored vanilla cream white head, two fingers with a whipped like appearance. Slightly sudsy, but with good enough retention and a slow fall. Neat looking brew.

What a fantastic aroma. Classic crushed grains, but a sweet caramel, and this huge cooked walnut and nut sweetness abounds all over it. Huge amounts of vanilla style sweetness, and fresh whipping cream. Wow I am in love.

What a fascinating beer. Light and nearly crisp, with a milky mild caramel finish. Hints with classic clove notes, but lost of creamy vanilla flavors. Hits like whipped up chocolate, with a small body but huge flavors that just linger. Nice clean finish, even just a hint of toast.

What a fantastic special beer. Light bock flavors, sweet cream, and hints of licorice abound in a German way. Got to add this to the Christmas beer wishlist on a regular basis from now on.
