Growler purchase from Breeze In, Lemon Creek, Juneau AK.
Into an oversized wine glass and a flared pilsener.
A: both have the same hazy brown colored body with a one finger white foamy head that dies almost immediately, there is more spider web lacing in the flared pilsener
S: mostly brown sugar up front with a delicate dose of malty raisons trying to come through
T: sweet all the way through; sweet sugary aftertaste with a dry sweet finish
M: sits about a medium on the body, tries to show a sessionable aspect as the ABV is felt or tasted at all, carbonation seems to be a tad higher for an Eisbock, but not bad to me
O: Ale or Lager? Eisbocks are lagers, though at Breeze In it said it was an ale. Hmm...once again, another beer put out by Alaskan at the Breeze In that makes me think I need to spend more time at the brewery asking questions instead of at the Breeze In. For the most part, this is a good beer, perhaps a nice night cap if anything.
Serving type: growler
