I've been looking forward to trying something from Alaskan for quite awhile. I haven't seen it around here so I actually asked a guy in my beer club to bring it with him when he moved back to Philadelphia from Cali. He also brought a bottle of the Smoked Porter.
This beer pours up DARK. No light is making it through this pint. Very little foam was generated from an aggresive pour. What did form faded fast to a ring around the edge. The aroma is sublte of mocha. Taste is sweet and also of mocha and caramel. Nice smooth mouthfeel but is a little thin for what I think a stout should be. Not much of an after taste.
Over all a good beer that I could drink a lot of. Great for a session beer. Hopefully it'll be more available around Philadelphia soon.
