Written from notes...I poured this one into a plastic cup thoughtfully supplied with the hotel room at the Sahara in Vegas, where I took up residence for a week while I attended the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show. (I get to spend a week in Vegas, surrounded by bunch of cool electronics that haven't hit the market yet....on the company dime??? Aw, shucks....do I have to?)
On to the beer...
Nice tan off white head, very foamy. Finger and a half eventually goes down to less than one finger. Darker honey colour liquid under, active bubbles.
Not a strong smell, but filled with malt and some spice. There's a hint of fresh orange here, as well.
Flavour is not as strong as I'd hoped. Dark sweet malty up front, just an airy hint to it...gets woodier at the end, but nothing else really happens with it.
It'sjust a bit oily, and the carbonation is higher than I like. Liquid is medium.
Eeasily drinkable, but I think it would be more drinkable with a little less carbonation. A little more zing in the flavour would also be nice. Just seems to sit there a bit.
