Richly malty and long on the palate, with just enough hop backing to make this beautiful amber colored "alt" style beer notably well balanced.

Appearance - Pours a fairly clear ruby amber with an off-white finger width head, dissipating quickly into a spotty lacing.

smell - Primarily sweet malts. Hard to pull anything else.

Taste - A semi-sweet caramel malt flavor is prevalent, some earthy notes, a subtle herbal and hop finish.

Mouthfeel - Very nice mouthfeel. Very fulfilling without being thick. Carbonation is perfect, with a really pleasant bite. A bit dry at the finish.

Overall - A solid offering from Alaskan. Not my favorite of theirs, but certainly good to drink from time to time.

Clear copper color with a moderate tan head. Sweet malt dominates the aroma. Hints of light fruit and mild hops. Light sweet pale malt dominate the tip of the palate. Light floral hops bitterness sweeps in quickly behind. Toffee take back the court in in the finish and shares it with some berries. Overall an easy drinking brew.

A - Slightly more than a fingers worth of dense egg shell colored froth... A vibrant slightly glowing amber color... Moderate carbonation throughout... 100% translucent... A slight bit of lacing clings to the glass...

S - Fairly mundane... Pale malt wort... A slight nuttiness... A slight herbal spiciness...

T - Crystal malts... Lots of biscuit and bread... Diacytel... Toffee... Butter scotch... Light caramel... A slight hop bite...

M - Light to medium bodied... Brisk carbonation... Clean and crisp... Smooth...

D - A solid Altbier, a style that I wish had more representation in the craft beer market... Simple... Low ABV... Well executed... Rather quaffable... Easy drinking... Sessionable...

pours out of the 12 ounce stubby bottle a dark amber colour with a thin fizzy head reducing to nothing in an instant. lightly carbonated therefore supporting little to no lace. heavily malted aroma showing off some sugary notes and bits of nuttiness. slight fruitiness can be detected too. flavour profile is malt forward...semi-sweet and somewhat nutty and buttery...with grassy hop notes for balance. pretty one dimensional and easy going for the style. medium bodied, smooth and supple mouthfeel...very easy drinkability and perfect for a session. i could see this as a nice compliment to some bar food or pub grub.

overall an approachable amber/alt style offering that represents the style in a somewhat solid, albeit unspectacular fashion.

Pours a rusty copper with some fine latte foam atop. Smells of sweet malts and a hint of vanilla and almost cinnamon. Flavor follows suit with sweet malts, a hint of dry wood and some herbal hops (faintly). Medium bodied with light and airy carb. Decent enough beer. I would be able to drink it in moderation.
