Hazy golden color with minimal head. Chunky hop or yeast residue floaters.
Sweet nose with a grassy hint - must be the spruce. Entry is fairly thick and sweet. Honey malt flavors - sweetness lingers on. Mouthfeel stays concentrated mid mouth - doesn't flow out. Spiciness on finish from hops and spruce.
The malt charchter is not overly pleasing...spruce is light, which is good. Lack of hops to balance the sweetness. Alcohol is warming, but not to a level expected for an Alaskan winter night.
Just not too pleasing for me.
