Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a shaker pint, the IPA is golden color with slight chill haze, a few streamers, and a stubborn surface skim and collar that leaves moderate white lace.
The nose is moderate, a very nicely toasted malt, and while there's no question it's hoppy, it's not super pungent, mainly an earthy pine resin. I really like my cali hop bombs, but this is a nice change and very inviting.
Man, this is one fine IPA. Very satisfying to the hop head in me, yet a restrained balance that makes it very refined. No wild west alaska here, someone decided to rock a tux to the party, and consequently owns the room. Like the nose, tasty toasted malt perfectly balanced by the hop resins, not really sweet, rather clean and nice bitter finish. So smooth, this is the James Bond of IPAs. And with an undetectable 6.2% ABV, it probably getting the panties droppin' just as quickly.
Light bodied with a nice, oily sharpness.
Well, I'm only having one of these tonight, but I really wish I had more, I'm sure I could effortless suck these down all night long. Damn good, I'm really impressed. Probably the best IPA I've had in awhile, very well crafted. Alaskan brewery really knows what they're doing. Their baltic porter is maybe my favorite beer ever, and now this IPA, wow!

Bottle received in trade from BeerKangaroo, thanks for the opportunity.
Pours a crystal clear deep golden color with a huge bubbly off white head that persists forever. Aromas of caramel and citrus dominate with hints of mineral to round it out. The flavor is a bit of pine, spice, and citrus with a solid bready caramel to back it up. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick resinous mineral mouthfeel. Nice easy drinker, a bit old school but certainly serviceable.
