Alaskan IPA is honey gold in color with a fruity, citrus aroma. An enticing blend of hops and our dry hopping process, in which hops are added directly to tanks during fermentation, give this brew a very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing hop finish.

While on a cruise in Alaska, visited the brewery. Sampled all of the beers on the tour. The IPA was my favorite. Brewed with no preservatives, so can not get in New England, too bad.

A: Golden color, high carbonation

S: Citrus and grapefruit smell, very pleasant

T: Slight bitterness, smooth, slight malt taste, light hop presence

M: Medium body, carbonation high

O: Very nice IPA, enjoyable

Easy to overlook the Alaskan IPA; I mean when I think of IPA, Alaska doesn't exactly pop into my head. This is really good though. This was poured form a bottle marked best by 6/29/13, so fresh, but not as fresh as you'd like. Nonetheless, nothing blows your mind and nothing is disappointing. It definitely grows on you. You could do better, but you could do much worse. For the price it is certainly worth a look if you're interested in trying a new IPA.
