Notes/Commercial Description:
Alaskan IPA is honey gold in color with a fruity, citrus aroma. An enticing blend of hops and our dry hopping process, in which hops are added directly to tanks during fermentation, give this brew a very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing hop finish.

Best by 2/22/12.

Pours a clear light honey orange with a 1 inch foamy white head that settles to a small cap. Broken foamy rings of lace form on the glass on the the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and herbal hops. Taste is of citrus zest and herbal hops up front with a malt finish. There is a very mild bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good IPA but nothing too memorable. I'm glad I finally picked up a bottle to give it a shot.

A: Light golden color, thin white head that stays a little while, decent carbonation

S: Citrus hops in addition to other hops, touch of earthy malts

T: Hops up front, sweet and citrusy, good bitterness middle to end

M: Light, almost medium-bodied, light carbonation, thin

O: Decent, above average IPA, but lots of choices and competition in this beer style

22oz bomber into tumbler, no BB

Pours a clear yellow/orange with a good sized and very frothy head, very light color. Smell is very malty for an IPA, good amount of hops that don't assert themselves too strongly. Only negative to the smell is a just barely detectable hint of light funk mixed with staleness. Taste is hoppy and malty, malt is very chill and English like, almost reminds me of a british ale. Hops are quite floral. A good amount of alcohol comes out despite the low abv. Mouthfeel is medium body, medium carb (on the high side of medium).

Interesting IPA, tastes more like a BIPA. Prominent mellow malt and floral hops. Smell is also a bit weak. Above average beer. Easy to drink and very chill and mellow for an IPA.

A: Pale yellow with minor hints of copper. Rather clear but a bit of clouding. Pouts a nice finger of fluffy head that lingers well and leaves fair amount of sheets of lacing.

S: Nothing too overwhelming here, nice hoppy smell with a bit of roasted/smokey malts.

T: Seems to be a lighter IPA, nice grapefruit citrus note upfront. Good piney hops come through with a very mild bitterness to them.

M: Very light bodied with decvent carbonation. Was very crisp and light with very minimal bitterness to this.

O: Very light IPA, for those who may not be a fan of this style, this would be a good step into the wonderful world of bittnerss! Nothing overpowering but still a solid beer.

Appearance great golden color, looks crisp and vivid

Smell- Nice sweet citrus with honey floral

Taste very similar to how it smells. Nice citrus without being overpowering, also nice hop structure

mouthfeel is smooth full and nice. Great water seems to give it great structure to this beer.

Poured into a Sam Adams perfect pint. No easy to read dating.

A - Straw yellow or lighter in color. Big white bubbles that quickly dissipate to a small lingering trace of foam. No lacing to be found.

S - Almost all pine in the nose, maybe a trace of some lemony hops. Light malty sweetness is traceable.

T - Even though its very light in color, it has a nice clean maltiness to it. No real distinct hop flavors but a nice light bitter finish. A little on the malty side.

M - Light bodied and low carbonation. Dry and crisp finish.

O - A nice change of pace from the big and balanced hoppy/malty IPAs that are easy to find. I found this pleasant and sessionable for a hot summer day.
