Notes & Commercial Description:

Alaskan IPA is honey gold in color with a fruity, citrus aroma. An enticing blend of hops and our dry hopping process, in which hops are added directly to tanks during fermentation, give this brew a very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing hop finish.

Pours a surprisingly light amber, touching on gold. Head settles to a thin film. Lacings are scattered.

Super fresh aroma. Loads of citrus fruits without with a welcome bit of sweetness.

Clean biscuity malt up front. Big juicy hops take over with a nice bit of zing. Bitterness os soft and not resinous in the least.

This is a really nice sessionable IPA, bordering on an APA. Would happily try again.

Poured into a Pint Glass

Appearance - Light Rust/Orange with a 1 finger head with a moderately hazy appearance. It looks alot more like an American or Belgian Pale Ale than an IPA.

Smell - Piney Hops, Yeasts, Caramel, and Malts. It's fairly malty due to it's sweetness, but there's also some hoppiness in there too

Taste - Piney Hops, Caramel, Malts, and Yeasts. Hops are not as strong as they are in a normal IPA. There is, however, a rather strong resin aftertaste in the flavor.

Mouthfeel - The body is light along with the carbonation. It's got a rather crisp feel but not quite refreshing

Overall - It's got a good taste and it's crisp. It's not perfect but you can't go wrong with it either

This was on tap at a local pizza shop. The poured a nice amber color with a small head which left a nice lacing on the cup during every sip. The smells were of nice hops and caramel. The feel was medium with a nice little hop resin. The taste was good nice amount of hops along with caramel.

The beer pours a yellow color with a wiff of a white head. The aroma is biscuit lots of piney hop nose. The flavor has a lot of bitterness with pine. There is also a hint of biscuit and citrus, but the bitter hops are far more present than the malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not great but good.

A: Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a thin bubbly white head that disappears quickly and leaves good lacing on the glass.

S: Some sweet malt dominated by a not overpowering earthy pine aroma with a hint of citrus and orange peel.

T: A moderate amount of hop bitterness with a strong grassy pine flavor and some orange citrus. There is also a small amount of of malt biscuit and toffee sweetness.

M: A light to medium body mouth feel with moderate to high carbonation tingle on the tongue.

O: It's not a particularly great IPA but it is a good beer worth trying. The earthy notes in this are not really my favorite. I wouldn't buy it again but I am glad I at least tried it.

Golden crisp look, nice finger width head, some bubbles coming up from the bottom.
Some apricot and pineapple, sweet.
Tastes nice, definitely fruit first, followed by spicy. Well-done regarding that flavor interplay.
Light-bodied beer that finishes nice if a bit dry with a nice linger of bitterness.
Overall highly drinkable. I will revisit this again I'm sure. Also, knowing that we're planning on taking an Alaskan cruise next summer, I wouldn't be at all disappointed if Alaskan IPA was the only available craft brew.

Pours a crips pale straw color with 1 finger of foamy white head.

The nose is faint but getting some tropical fruit and orange. Not much of a strong hop present...

The taste is pretty similar to the nose but getting a some bready characteristics. Slight citrus hop taste... not much going on here.

Light in body and crisp with carbonation. Very slight drying taste.

Overall, this was a disappointing IPA. Not much going on anywhere with this beer.

12oz bottle poured into taster

Pours a pale golden color with a crop of white head resting on top. Streaks of lacing run across the glass with some filmy residue left behind.

Slightly muted and muddled nose with flairs of pine and citrus hops. Soft sweetness with bread and biscuit malts and a touch of lemon peel.

Kiss of bitterness up front with citrusy hops and lemon peel. Light grapefruit notion with a dash of pine. Biscuit and cracker-like malt consistency resting upon a mild sweetness. Finishes lightly bitter and dry.

Medium body, nicely carbonated, dry and lingering on the tongue. Alaskan makes some great beers but this unfortunately isn't one of them.
