Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Look – jet black with about half a finger’s worth of tan-colored foam that dissipates quickly.
Smell – definitely hoppy, perhaps a mix of Cascades and some other hop(s). There’s also a spiciness to it, maybe something of a nut brown type of mix.
Taste – definitely hoppy, but that’s to be expected of an IPA. This one also has a roasted quality that strikes toward the middle of the taste, but the bitterness hits right away and comes back in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel – pretty well balanced, but leans more toward the watery side.
Overall – not a bad tasting brew at all, and somewhat interesting, but not terribly intriguing.
