Notes/Commercial Description:
Nugget and Apollo hops added in the brew kettle provide a green, floral aroma and citrus hop base, while the later addition of Amarillo, Citra, and Centennial hops add notes of spicy grapefruit and orange - complimenting the resilient malt profile.

Pours a dark copper, crystal clear, with a small off white head that dissipates quickly.

Aroma is very nice. Sweet citrus fruits, spring grass, dragon fruit, fruit loops, sweet breakfast cereal, artificial maple, and cranberry marmalade. Just a unique smelling IPA!

On the palate you get more of the sweet frosted flake/fruit loop cereal character. Lemongrass, sweet grapefruit, spring herbs, mandarin, dried pineapple, and caramel. Certainly a malt forward DIPA but is pretty balanced by the hop profile.

Mouthfeel is lighter side of medium. Finishes bittersweet converging on sweet.

A nice double IPA from Alaskan brewing. Has some unique quantities not found in others. While the maltiness is pleasant, it takes over just a bit and keeps all those interesting hop nuances from shining through. Still very good!

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pilsner hourglass. No bottling date that I could find.

A- Deep amber, good clarity, small slightly off-white head.

S- Light notes of floral, citrus, apricot, and spice. Getting a bit of yeast.

T- Apricot, floral, some orange, spice, finish is bitter floral.

M- On the heavier side of medium, a bit syrupy.

O- Not the most potent DIPA, the aroma is a bit muted, and the flavor profile isn't my favorite. There seems to be a yeast flavor to it that I didn't care for.
