Visited Lukes on 03/20/2010 while visiting my sister in Rockland (had to make the 1.5 hour drive worth it). Luke's presents as a former grocery or department-type store converted into a liquor store. As you enter the store, the beer area is located on the opposite wall adjacent to the entrance - just keep walking. As you proceed to the beer area, to the left are a series of aisles which seems to more or less be broken out by region for the most part - all Americans. To the right is a long aisle - perhaps 30-40 ft. of Belgians, Germans, English beers, etc. As well as some beers from other regions (i.e. Russia). Adjacent to the imports shelf are a few other aisles with some other crafts, most notably Founders (alas no KBS). The cooler located at the back of the store is pretty small considering the size of the store and doesn't offer much of a cold craft selection, and bombers are almost non-existent although they did have several Berkshire beers and growlers in the end cooler. I was also fortunate to find colder sixers of Nugget Nectar.

In terms of craft bottles, I didn't take detailed notes, but they had Lost Abbey, Port, Troegs, Founders, Smutty, Southern Tier, Blue Hills, Manchester Brewing, Off-Shore, Cisco, Mayflower, Rogue, Tuckerman's, Victory, DFH, Ballast Point, Stone, Bear Republic - the list goes on and on. A very extensive collection indeed. One of the pluses and minuses of the store is that bottles seem to sit (particularly bombers), unfortunately, many are also still in their original cases, so you can't really tell what is in them. Prices were a dollar or two more than I am used to paying.

I can't really comment of the service, as I didn't ask for any assistance, and no one approached me, although the cashier was pleasant enough.

Luke's is definitely one of the better beer stores I've visited in the MA/RI area and they carry a pretty respectable stock of NE regionals - some companies I'd never even heard off or don't traditionally see in any volume. That being said, I'd prefer to hit Julio's given the quality, price and closer proximity to where I live; however, if you are in the area, it's definitely worth stopping in. Also, you might luck out if you are looking for some cellarable beers that might already have some age on them.
