A> Not the best appearance, about 1-finger of head that quickly dissipated and looked more like the head from a carbonated soda. The brew itself is clear and rusty looking.

S> Smells pretty good, biscuity malts and a tropical/melony hop aroma

T> Hops come through much stronger on the tongue. A really nice play of hops that exhibit mainly tropical/melon flavors and just a bit of citrus on the finish. The malt also makes itself known, the biscuity flavor from the nose comes through but I also taste really dark/roasty malts. Finishes hop dominant without being overwhelming.

M> Feels good on the tongue. Nice carbonation and not too thin, especially given that it's a pale ale. Nothing outstanding but solid none the less.

O> This is an interesting beer. The flavors are all pretty big without being overwhelming in the least. I can see this brew turning someone on to craft brew for the first time, but not really anything to write home about. Considering this is the 30th anniversary ale from Bridgeport, this is pretty dissapointing.

Pours into a nonic a dull honey tinged golden with a nice sticky full one finger white head that leaves two broken rings of lace as it settles slowly into a frothy mass.Caramel/biscuit malt mainly stands out in the nose with light leafy hops,dry-hopped maybe but lightly hopped at that.Flavors have almost and English flare to them with biscuit malts and leafy hops the main flavor profile although it does get sweet after awhile. The body needs a little beefing up and the flavor does as well, for a 30th anniversary trilogy Bridgeport leaves a little desired for their first of the trifecta.

12 oz bottle pours hazy pale amber with a slight pinkish tint. Decent head with very good lacing.

Nice, appropriately hoppy aroma. Flavor follows but is stronger, with a bolder hop presence and enough sweet malts to temper the bitterness. At least average hop presence for an APA with mild bitterness.

Feel: lively but not harsh, medium-high carbonation. Medium body.

O: Excellent for style; get one while you can. I look forward to the remaining 2 pieces of the trilogy.

Appearance - burnt orange color that you would hope to see with some decent amount of head.

Smell - sweet hop aroma all over this one. interesting smell

Taste - definitely a unique hop flavor to this one. at first it is sweet and then just a little overwhelming for me.

Mouthfeel - nice and smooth, but still an interesting flavor to end the beer. nothing special

Bridgeport's tapered 12oz bottle served in pint glass. Beer pours pale golden in color with an impressive white head. Big, super fruity, fresh hop aroma. Really, this smells like a bowl of oranges. But this is no IBU monster. Just totally respectable American pale ale with a serious load of dry hopping. The beer is not totally dried out and leaves my palate a little bit sweet, though maybe that's just because I'm expecting a beer this aromatic to be more bitter. Still, I think this is solidly sessionable.

The Trilogy No. 1 Pale Ale from Bridgeport is decent and quite sessionable. The beer poured a slightly hazy golden with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent carries a fresh hop zeal that has a hint of potpourri. The taste is evenly balanced and crisp. Floral base with pine twang makes it worth while. The mouthfeel is light to medium in body with good carbonation. Overall this is a good beer and would recommend it.

Pours a half finger of head on a hazy medium straw colored body.
The aroma is quite nice: grapefruit and orange.
The taste starts with a jab of lemon bitterness then lightens up a bit in the middle, finishes with a strong lemon and pine bitterness. Nice profile.
The texture is crisp with some nice fizz.
Great aroma and good tasting.

Pours an ever-so-slightly chill-hazed honey color with 3 fingers of ivory colored head. Clears nicely, great head retention& lacing

S: Biscuitty malt, mown hay, breadyness

T: Follows the nose, some grassy notes & tangerine up front. More biscuitty malt, dryness & a touch of floral hops as this warms, along with some grain husk notes. Finishes dry with some aspirin notes

MF: Medium bodied, firm carbonation, pretty good balance, gets a bit too bitter as it warms

An old school APA, started strong, but didn't quite finish that way, worth a try though

Clear light amber with three fingers of white head that lasts more than five minutes. Leaves big clouds of lacing in the sides of the glass.
Smell is mostly grains with some herbal hop notes.
Taste is big herbal hops with a touch of melon. Hops have a bit of leather character and dominate at the start. The biscuit dough malt closes the gap with each sip. The lightly sweet melon aspect appears at the end of each swallow.
Overall a tasty and different APA for the Northwest. No grapefruit hop character. Fruity in a different way. Mouthfeel is a medium for the style with slight drying bitter finish left on the tongue.
Nice beer for a fairly low abv. APA . Looking forward to more interesting beers in the series.

12 oz bottle poured into an imperial pint.
5.2% ABV

A - A tall cap of white foam rises from being poured straight into the glass. Slow to vacate, fed by strong carbonation, and leaving it's presence all over the pint, the white suds rest on the slightly hazed, muted goldenrod-colored beer beautifully.

S - "Aaah"are the first things past my lips with one whiff of Trilogy #1. Citrusy and refreshing, the aroma presents a welcome burst of hops that showcase lemon rind, fresh-cut grass, suggestions of tropical fruit, and floral hints held together by a smooth and simple pale maltiness.

T - Citrus and tropical fruit pull from aroma to flavor in BridgePort's first Trilogy series beer but the bulk of the flavor revolves around the cereal grainy pale malt base that offers light flaky biscuit notes and a touch of honey.

M - Nicely carbonated, incredibly smooth, easy drinking, and finished with a wonderful level of dry, hoppy bitterness, this pale ale is quite sessionable and worthy of many pairings.

O - The first installment of BridgePort's Trilogy series, a Crystal dry-hopped pale ale, opens with a boisterous hop aroma that becomes a bit more conservative in flavor, mellowing out for a smooth, balanced, and drinkable beer. This tasty pale ale has "pairing" written all over it; it would compliment just about any pub fare you could throw at it as well as a handful of cheeses. A nice start to their 30th year!

12oz from the COOP... Pours a fairly clear pale orange... Nice white head with good lacing.

Nose is interesting mix of grassy and slightly floral/melon hoppiness... pale malt essence mixes well with the grassy notes and helps amplify the fruitiness... a bit more herbaceous with warmth.

Flavor has a more pronounced melon/tropical fruit hoppiness.. but a residual cut hay/grass element is present too... Some spicy/herbal notes rise up as the glass warms.

Pretty standard in body and carbonation.

Okay pale ale... Good use of a PNW hop variety.

3.75's across the board.
