Appearance - Pours a semi-hazy watery orange color with an off-white finger width head. Fair retention, resulting in a broken layer of surface suds. Lacing is mostly spotty with good stick.

Smell - Big floral notes with touches of citrus and grass. Distant bready malts comprise the rest of the aroma.

Taste - Follows the nose - floral and grassy hop notes backed by some rounding citrus character. Malts are pushed well back and come across as very generic in flavor, bready and bland, but provides a solid backbone. Finishes with a touch of spice and some light citrus rind bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Medium in body with lively carbonation that leads to a crisp bite and finish.

Overall - It's a good IPA, and I don't think you'd find many that would argue with that. How good is probably where the argument lies. For me, it's bordering on great. I think the lack of some more assertive malt flavor is holding it back, otherwise it's pretty damn good.

A - Hazy cloudy orange with a nice amount head and a little lacing.

S - Fresh piney, resiny hops and some bready malt.

T - Now I love me some hoppy bitter IPAs, but this tasted like soap. And once I couldn't get that taste out of my mouth I couldn't even finish the beer.

M - Favorable carbonation but the taste overwhelmed everything.

O - I went in wanting to like it. I don't like drinking soap. And now my glass was not soapy.

Pours a semi-hazed amber with a thumb of cream colored head. Never clears up, nice head retention & lacing

S: Grassy with some bready notes

T: Pears, white grapes, leafy & tobacco like hops, some lemon zest up front. Some grapefruit rind along with dryness & a bit of astringency as this warms, a little more pear as well. finishes fruity, woody, dry & with a little bit of grassyness

MF: Medium bodied, assertive carbonation, alright balance

This did little to nothing for me, had much higher hopes for this one, starting to lose interest in these guys

Pours out to a dense white head that falls to a thin layer and leaves good but erratic lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, herbs and not much grain. Flavor is juicy hop juice, dry and crisp with a pale malt backdrop. Mouthfeel is light and refreshing (not to style but I like it), Overall assessment is this is solid but not exceptional.

Lightly hazed with one finger of white head. Fair amount of lace. Smell is resins and bready malt. Taste is resinous hops with a some bready malt. A light amount of tropical fruitiness also. Mouthfeel is just above light plenty of carbonation. Finish is long bitter and dry. Overall it reminds me of Bridgeport's regular IPA but about 20% more bitter.

12 oz bottle poured into an Imperial Pint.

A - Cloudy apricot golden in color, Aussie Salute might be hard to see through but it's steady carbonation feeding the tall ivory head is still noticeable beneath the delicate lace left on the glass.

S - Big and citrusy, the dry-hopped nose bursts with a combination of bright American hops and earthy Aussie nuances. Lemon oil and old grapefruit rind mix with soft pine suggestions and cut grass for a slightly skunky aroma that's unlike the affects of being light-struck. This IPAs malt brings a nice flaky biscuit undertone that works wonderfully as a light backdrop.

T - Floral earthiness abandons the grassier aromatics while the citrus characteristics remain in tact with full lemony citrus notes. Hop driven but not explosive, this IPA keeps an even keel with biscuity malt and a touch of caramel sweetness.

M - Malt still provides wonderful balance even though this IPA is rightfully hop-forward. Medium-light bodied and dry on the back end, there's very light bitterness but just enough to make it a nice food pairing beer.

O - Aussie Salute's overall hoppiness, while forward, remains on the lighter side for today's IPAs giving it an aroma, taste, and finish of something more like an easy drinking pale ale that would go wonderfully with about any pub fare you could throw it's way. Citrusy and floral with biscuity undertones, there's something for everyone in this relaxing brew.

12oz picked up last week at the COOP... Finally got around to it tonight while getting some writing finished... Poured into my Grand Teton tulip.. slightly hazy golden.. long lasting white head... good retention and lacing.

Nose is fresh sorta grassy with a bit floral.. uncompromising hoppiness despite the "Continental" nature of the hops.

Flavor is about the same with a nice approachable nature for a PNW IPA.. And for the Geeks, I like this one because it ISN'T a citrus/mango bomb. It honestly seems to me like an Old Skool IPA... The hops aren't abrasive and are from the grassy/herbal realm and NOT the CCC school.

I dig this one. It makes me feel old though. :-)

Poured into a Dogfish Head pint glass. Pours a light to medium coppery amber with a one fingre white head that maintains a thick cap with decent lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt, overripe oranges, hints of tropical fruit, grassy and citrus hops. Flavor is neutral malt with developing citrus and grapefruit rind hoppiness, citrus, ephemeral floral notes. Medium bodied. A light to medium IPA with quite malt in the background and moderate hopping with a mix of citrus and tropical fruit flavors. Tends towards an East Coast hop profile and intensity with an unfortunate light old orange juice flavor that knocks off the fruit flavors. A decent IPA presenting some hops that are not common in West Coast IPAs, but nothing remarkable. Interesting to try for the hop varieties, but not one I'd revisit with the wealth of IPAs around.

12 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. My second of the trilogy beers from Bridgeport, acquired at the local Binny's.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - It pours a very attractive bright honeyed golden orange colored body with just over two fingers of frothy off-white head. Adequate carbonation noticeable, with lots of sedimentation in the glass. I love the look of a nice unfiltered IPA. Good fat fluffy lacing. Looks very nice.

S - The aroma is fresh & floral. Grassy, herbal, with some lemony / orange citrus pith. Some bready pale malt presence is noted.

T - The taste is of light fruity hops - fleshy grapefruit, orange, mango, lemon, pine, but it leaves much to be desired. In a way, it reminds me of what I imagine a session IPA should taste like. Dry, bready, & malty.

M - The feel is the same, bitter & dry, with mild resinous pine / grapefruit on the palate. Crisp & well-carbonated.

Overall, flavorful and easy-drinking, but in the overall realm of IPA's it leaves me with much to be desired. Still a bit too malty for me, especially given the use of four different hop varieties. Recommended, but not something I will miss when it's gone.

From a 12 oz. bottle into a standard pint glass. Pours a cloudy golden-orange with a 1 finger head. The aroma is lemon and honey with a slightly medicinal quality. The hops are all of the bitter variety with notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, pepper, and sweet onion. the malt body is light, earthy, and sweet. The finish is dry with the malt changing to more of a biscuit flavor. This one has grown on me ever so slightly, but isn't worth repeating in my estimation.
