Appearance: Pours a perfectly clear copper with a light tan head that shrinks quickly to a small cap, but leaves a fair amount of lacing.
Smell: The aroma is quite malty, with a considerable amount of Munich malt toasted breadiness. There's a hint of fruit, as well as a bit of herbal and spicy hop. Strong mineral presence.
Taste: Almost overwhelming in it's maltiness. There's a huge shot of Munich malt that gives a warm, toasted bread flavor and a hint of nuttiness. The hops show up mostly in the form of a herbal, spicy note that get's trampled by the malt. As in the smell, there's a strong mineral component to the flavor that adds to the dryness.
Mouthfeel: Fairly thin in body, with a crisp, dry mouthfeel that is highlighted even more by the minerally flavor and aroma. Very clean.
Drinkability: This would make a good session brew. It's a bit one-sided, with the Munich malt taking most of the attention, but still manages to please.

Poured into pint glass.
A good color...dare I say copper? Brown/red/yellow. I wish it had a deeper head; thin, little lacing.
Aroma had malt and hops; weird though as they never balance...you smell one or the other.
Taste was not great, but not bad. Starts with smooth malt, some dark fruit then hits the hops and more of a sweeter tone. No aftertaste which makes what you just tasted seem light.
A nice micro...nothing eccentric, but more diverse than macro

Pours a clear red to copper colored ale with an off white head.
Smell is malty with a toasted cracker scent and a slight buttery scent. Fainter herbal hops and caramel aromas detected.
Taste is sweet with the strong malty flavor that you smell in the nose. The cracker malt flavor is in the taste in full force and is joined by a good herbal hop finish. After the first few sips the malt flavor tones down quite a bit and the fruity flavors and hops take over to make this still a malty ale but much better balanced with a nice nutty flavor.
Mouthfeel is average.
A very pleasant session ale here. This is tasty and mild and a good choice for bringing to a party to finesse a macro drinker in to a better world of beer.

This beer pours a nice copper color, with a small white head. It smelled a bit sweet, with a little bit of hops, but the smell as a whole was not very powerful. This beer tasted a bit sweet, with a bit of a tart finish, but all the flavors were fairly mild overall. Not a bad taste, but there is certainly better out there. The mouthfeel is a bit better than I was expecting; the flavors linger for a while in the mouth, and there is more body than the mild smell had made me expect; I wish the rest of the beer matched this. It's a very drinkable beer, possibly a good way to start someone's road away from macro swill, but there are definetly better APA's to be found.

Tasted on 3rd October 2005. 12 fl oz (355 ml) bottle, no "best by" date to be found.
Poured a copper coloured body topped by a thin off-white head. Head receded quite quickly, but small bubbles continued to form to leave a thin lacing effect.
Smell was subtle, a mild hops with some malt and fruit. Tasted quite nice, though not a complex of flavours (buttery); a bit light. Mouthfeel was somewhat syrupy.
Could easily be enticed to drink a few of these.

This qualifies as BridgePort's lightest offering, for the Bud Light drinker, although its flavor is a bit more blatant than the extreme subtleties of BridgePort's Blue Heron. Not to say that the beer is brash; far from it. It pours a sunny copper with good seafoam head and spidery lace. The aroma is trademark BridgePort, with a hint of caramel, some rainy day yeast, and perhaps popcorn? Fruity esters are also apparent, and carry over into the flavor to buttress a light toffee malt quality. Hops are muted, herbal, with a slight peppery zing. The mouthfeel is fluid, quite soft, substantial for this kind of beer. The entire package is seamlessly composed; not a jarring note or flavor out of place, to these taste buds at least. I wasn't expecting much from BridgePort's seemingly least impressive offering, but I was surprised by how easily enjoyable the beer was. Another solid selection, not to be overlooked, from a great brewery.

12 oz bottle: Clear amber pour, decent sized, but fleeting head. minimal lacing.
Carmel and bread dominate the aroma. one has to really agitate the beer to bring any hops out and even then they are faint.
Flavor is mildly bitter, mildly sweet.
Body is thin and watery.
finish is short and mildly citrus
Goes down easy so this could be a session beer with some freinds who don't drink much more than Bud.

Pintail Copper Ale is defined by a strong yeast flavor that instills either a firm appeal, or an upfront aversion. I wont go so far as to say I didnt care for it, only that it doesnt suit my personal tastes. Its very meaty and none too subtle.
Pintail is also true to form in its clear copper body with my pint showing no lace and only an eclipsed head. It had a difficult time standing alone and begged to be paired with food or some palatal contrast.

L - as advertised it purs a nice copper tone. Not quite red liek an amber, and not golden. Tall head of medium fine bubbles and decent lacing
S - dry hoppy scent, not very sweet nose. Pleasent but not exceptional
T - Like an enhanced lager to me. Flavors are mellow, and aftertaste is like most ambers, grain taste and pleasent, but this is a little less intense.
M - a bit more body than I expected. Nice flavors linger in the mouth and stick. Very nice.
D - Very drinkable. Somewhere between an amber and a lager again. I would enjoy this at a keg party very much.

12 oz. bottle: This one pours an amber color, with a bit of white foam. Mild but pleasing aroma. It consists of a mild malt sweetness and a slight whiff of hops. The taste is slightly caramel sweet with a hint of tartness in the aftertaste. A touch of citrus also. OK, but definitely not exciting. This might be a good micro starter for your friends.

Lives up to it's name in the appearance...the hue of a bright copper penny. White head that falls quick, leaving a thin film at the top.
Aroma of hops, some malt there, but faint.
Smooth going down, pretty stnadard in all respects. The aftertaste reminds me of a subdued SN Pale Ale - hops are there but nowhere near SN levels.
All in all a decent brew. Drinkable and light, I've no real complaints about it other than that neither the hops nor the malt really shines through. Might be a good intro brew to those making their way out of Bud Light purgatory and into more refined tastes.

There are two fingers of creamy-white, fine, soft foam on top of the almost perfectly clear, dull copper beer. Small spots of lacing with a couple of swoops. It smells caramely, a little tangy and roasty. The front is fruity with apples leading to a tangy, caramel+fruit middle. The beer finishes very tangy with more apples. It's quite bitter. This is a decent, tangy, caramel, amber ale with strong apple highlights.

This beer pours a light copper color with a small white head and lacing that slowly disapates as you drink.
The smell is fruity with some melon tones. There is also a light carmel smell in the end.
The taste is fruity with a lemon zest in the end that is very refershing. It has a touch of melon flavor as well and a nice malt sweetness that balances quite nice with the hops.
A very refreshing and drinkable summer brew.

Pours a very rustic looking orangish yellow with a very nice frothy white head that stays throughout, not much lacing left on glass as you drink. Smells of citrus oj and hints of banana and mango, slight molasses/caramel brings up the rear. Taste is of zesty lemon and lime with great citrus aftertones. The pinepapple/mango is a great sweetness to the balance of the bitter buttery hop. A medium bodied ale, very refreshing, would drink again.

Lighter copper color, clear body, small thin off-white cap, little lacing. Aroma is a bit on the fruity side with some melon, a bit of citrus tones from hops and slight pine, buttery sweet and clean, but a bit too sweet, more hop tones needed I think. Taste is much better, but not a bad drinker, sweetly fruity with more then enough malts, melon-like, pears and dull apples mark the flavors mostly, some hoppy things approach the finish with a bit of grassy spice and pine but lacks depth with a very mild little bite. Feel is shy of medium with a lower carbonation and malty sweetening thats a bit sticky upfront but it drys out some for the finish. Not a bad drinker, just a slightly better then average pale with more of a malt rendered approach which may suit some, but not I said me.

Picked up a six pack at Sprouts, the local organic grocer that has a decent little selection of brews for $5.99. This is a copper colored ale but is really more like a pale ale. Poured a nice head leaving a nice lacing down my pint. Detecting a citrusy smell to this beer. The taste is like a pale ale, sweet malty start and a slight citrus, light hop finish. Mouthfeel is adequate but not complex. Is a decent little beer, even my wife (Miss Bud Light) enjoyed this at the brewpub in Portland last summer.
