"279 A-1 1218" is printed on the bottom of this bottle, but I can't figure out how that corresponds to bottling date.
Poured into a standard pint glass.
Appearance: Huge, frothy, off-white head forms off pour, and takes a long time to descend. As it falls, the head drags loads of goopy, bubblebath-like lace. Absolutely no complaints about this beer's head! The body, on the other hand, shows a significant amount of suspended particulate. Body is orange-amber in color.
Smell: Pine resin, pepper, earth, grass, and sweet vegetal notes. Not so big on the tropical fruit; I get tangerine, but that's it. Caramel also plays a substantial role.
Taste: Pine resin, grass, earth, and bread. Very little crystal malt sweetness in this double IPA. Finishes with a moderate amount of herbal and earthy hop bitterness. Nothing special here.
Mouthfeel: Relatively light in body, balanced, and moderately carbonated. Finishes dry, bitter, and pungent, but this is no palate wrecker. Pretty smooth and easy, in fact.
Overall: Very drinkable for an imperial IPA, although this one lacks the tropical bouquet I've become fond of. I'm guessing BridgePort switched up the typical west coast IPA hop bill in search of more unique flavor and aroma profiles, but this just doesn't do really do it for me.

Nothing special but the color is awesome.Smells like an IPA bitter and piny.Taste is a basic blend of hops and possible malt and licorice but Im not sure.Could be better if it was a bit sweeter.Again nothing special and most likely will not purchase again.
