Too damn sweet. Malt profile completely dominated and the hop profile lacks tremendously. Obviously the recipe hasn't changed with the times and it certainly tastes like an IPA from the 90's.

I've known about this one for a while and it is far from my favorite double IPA...but I buy it frequently because it is one of the best budget IPAs around. I've seen stores that have had a 12 pack of this on sale for $10!!! $10 for a 12 pack of Double IPA?!..Killer. Even a 6 pack is typically alot cheaper than any other IPA on the shelf except maybe full sail...and this blows Full Sail away. Its lower alcohol content than most Double IPAs, but its arguably just as bitter. This is not a beginners IPA either. Its very much on the Piney, non-sweet citrus side of IPAs. It has a very non-filtered look and sometimes...too nonfiltered.. Bridgeport has never really impressed me much because most of their beers taste too similar (mostly because of the hops I think), but this beer is the best of what they do. Their new Dark Hop Czar is also very good.

Well brewed. Has some nice characteristics not found in most IPAs. The malty flavor stands out to make this beer a memorable treat.

12oz bottle, “30 years proud”, 6.5% ABV, poured into a glass

LOOK: Hazy light copper with a thin, creamy head (1/8 inch) followed by good lacing.

SMELL: Slight hops and strong barley malt, very bready, not much else.

TASTE/FEEL: Smooth and silky/slightly thick with very little hops but oh, the wonderful malt comes through loud and clear. Carbonation is just right for the style. I really love the malty taste. Oily hops come through on the second taste, lingering on the middle of the tongue, followed by a lingering bitterness. Not sure where the malt went! Third mouthful and the malt is back, but the hops come in on the tail and linger to a slightly bitter finish.

I will buy this one again!

first time i got it i thought it might just have been sitting on the self to long. but it was super skunked. i think they are either fermenting at a super high temp or just not storing properly

Pours hazy golden orange with thin white head. Earthy and malty aroma. Heavy on the malt with moderate grassy floral hops. Moderate/heavy body. Decent imperial ipa.
