Appearance -A cloudy amber color, little to no fizz, the head is thick foamy and laces the glass as it dissipates.

Smell - The malt scent is light and caramelly. Hops are strong and stinky

Taste - HOLY HOPS! There is no shortage of hops on this one. The color on this brew would lead you to believe it would be a light Amber Ale. Looks are deceiving. BIG HOPS FLAVOR THAT KICKS YOU IN THE TEETH! It tastes like a big IPA! I can't distinguish any flavors past the hops... just way too strong Skunky and bitter

Mouthfeel - Medium - Heavy Bodied. Its got a lingering quality

Overall - I reviewed Bridgeport's Amber not that long ago and noticed a hefty hops profile. this one has it as well. I am a sucker for heavily hopped brews. This may not be 100% true to the IPA style, but it tastes the part! Dude... Bridgeport makes some awesomely hoppy brews... another winner

Pours bright orange with a big, soft, white head that has decent retention. The nose has notes of bread, citrus, mango, grapefruit, and it's very floral. The flavor is lightly bready, citrusy, and sweet with notes of grapefruit and pineapple. It finishes with an earthy bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, smooth, and lightly carbonated.

This offers nice balance with light malt and a good hop character. It's drinkable, smooth, and enjoyable. I would probably have this again.

Appearance: Pours a clear light amber color verging on golden; quite a few shards of lace appear as the beer descends

Smell: Floral, with undertones of pith

Taste: Floral, juicy fruit, up front, with a growing limeade citrus character developing by mid-palate; rather sugary, after the swallow, with plenty of sweetness lingering in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A little underattenuated, for my taste, though the floral, juicy fruit flavors are a real attraction and set this beer apart from others in the style

A: 1.5 finger thick head on a cloudy crimson with golden hues body. Nice lacing and retention

S: Excellent, rich hop aroma with nice malt backbone and citrus/pines notes.

T: Pine and hops are there from start to finish. The pine isn’t overwhelming. Herbal note in the finish.

M: medium to full body and moderate carbonation.

Overall: The flavor is very full likely to the nice malt presence. On the piney side but doesn’t overwhelm. The aroma and appearance are the highlights of this one however.

When poured into a pint glass, it looks like a typical India Pale Ale, with a golden hoppy color. Where this beer really sticks out is in the earthy, grassy aroma. The aroma is beautifully noted, and the taste is obviously of watery hops and barley. It is the perfect blend of not being too strong or over the top. Definitely one of the better hoppy beers on the market these days. The beer pours with just the right amount of carbonation, head, and lace, and the lingering taste of hops on the palette makes for a memorable beer tasting experience. Perfect with a hearty meal, a very worthy beer indeed. Definitely the best product I have tried thus far from Bridgeport. If they keep brewing beers this good, they could be one of the top brewers in the U.S.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. No freshness/bottling date, but it just arrived at the store a about a week ago.
Nice clear orange-amber color with a frothy 1/2" off-white head. Leaves some clingy lacing, recedes to 1/8" and retains there well, comes back with a swirl.
Juicy, sweet fruit on the nose, pineapple, tangerine, and passion fruit, with a little sharp pine sap underneath it. Nice and rich, inviting.
Comes on with big pine and bitter orange on the taste, clean and fresh tasting with just a touch of sweetness to balance. Loooong finish with a delicious, chewy blend of lemon and lime zest, juicy and bitter with a bit of just dank, leafy hops on the end (simcoe hops maybe). Nice.
Light, smooth texture, ends clean, let's the hops do the talking.
I'm a big proponent of this beer. This fresh bottle was delicious and unique, and I've had it a little bit older where more tropical fruit and sweetness come out and it's still delicious. It's a good, underappreciated year-round DIPA at a really good price ($6.50-$8 for a sixer!). Drink all up on this beer yo!
