It definitely looks the part, though very slightly on the darker side for a style that's traditionally very pale. It's a deep shining white gold color with fantastic clarity. The head is pure white, fluffy and thick though small. Retention is just above-par, and lacing is slightly more than moderate.
The smell has some not-quite-toasty grains with light fruit notes, a bit of citrus, and a zesty tartness. It is dry, even to the point of chalky, as the leafy vinous character makes me think Kolsch is in fact the correct designation.
The flavor doesn't bring it quite as well, grains more substantial and the light, almost effervescent dry note almost lost. Malts are still dry, pretty crackery, with some toast as well. Leaf does add a touch of bitterness. The taste just seems to have lost some of the finesse and depth the aroma had.
It's crisp all the way through, and strongly at that, but it's creamier than I would think. It has a feel that the ample carbonation leads toward fluffy, the bite just keeping it shy of being too filling in its light body.

One of the more interesting appearances, in that, the head appeared thick and creamy but was airy and light to feel. Nonetheless, it sat atop a darker golden color.

Very simple cereal malt scent with a little toast like aroma.

The taste is ultimately Kolschy, with strong cereal grain, toast and biscuity maltiness. For a light beer it's quite good with a nice smooth flavor but it ends as most light beers taste....with a strong metallic aftertaste. Otherwise it is easy to drink, thirst quenching and tasty.
