Pours a medium dark red color with virtually no head. Aroma of grains. Taste is tangy with a strong alcohol flavour; almost like a mixed drink. Crisp and dry.

Thanks to a concerted effort on my part, there has been a significant reduction in the Bottle (Gasp!) Backlog here at Chez Woody. The effort continues with this beer.
From the Bottle (!): "Ale brewed with cherries and orange peel, aged in oak bourbon and bitters barrels".
I was intrigued by this one, so I Pop!ped the cap & started a slow, gentle C-Line pour into the awaiting glass. I was pleasantly surprised by the unbidden formation of just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, light-tan head with decent retention. Color was a solid-Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was everything as advertised - orange, then cherry with a bourbon overlay! I am not a big cocktail guy, but I have had Old Fashioneds before & this was highly evocative of one. 8=O Cocktails! The greatest bartender of all-time, IMHO, Rocky Albrecht used to shout that immediately after taking the stick. 8=) Mouthfeel was big, but less creamy and more viscous & syrupy. 8=p I dislike sweet stuff & this was cloying. OTOH, the taste was really pleasant with the orange-cherry combination working really well with the barrel aging to create a taste that was very evocative of the classic cocktail. Finish was somewhere between semi-sweet & semi-dry with its alcohol definitely giving it a dryness. YMMV.

From the 12 fl. oz bottle with date of 10-28-2019. Sampled on Nov 23, 2019.
The pour is handsome enough with its medium amber brown appearance but a quick lived off-white head. Okay clarity.
I pick up a malt forward,, butterscotch, wooden, aroma with the cherries being lower profile than advertised. No booze though.
Medium to full body.
The booze is buried in the taste to but it definitely has a malty forward character. Again, the alcohol does not show up. This was a one time thing for me. I won't have it again.

My rating is largely based on how true to form it is. This tastes so much like an old-fashioned that, honestly, it might just make some drinkers want the real thing.

Quite sweet from the cherries with some bitterness on the finish, it's a decent old fashioned. Cheers B

12oz bottled 10/19/18 (2 months ago) poured into a becher glass at fridge temp 10% ABV. The beer pours bright dark honey amber in color with fizzy, quickly settling off white head. The head recedes to a pencil thin ring and leaves no lacing. The aroma is faint with cherry, caramel and cocktail bitters. The taste is semisweet caramel with minor hints of barrel, cherry and bitters. The balancing is done with the barrel, so no real hop bitterness & no sign of the 10% ABV. Mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied with very low carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, good. This one comes together a little bit better as it approaches room temperature.
