Fantastic piece of local uniqueness.
A: Pours a brown to deep red color, mild head retention and little lacing. Light brown, single finger of head. Syrupy in the pour.
S: Fruit punch, passion fruit and some sort of synthetic syrup. I kinda like it though.
T: Very sweet, like a cherry soda. But has a pleasant slightly bitter finish.
M: A bit too sweet. Tends to cloy on the cheeks and back of the throat.
O: I like the uniqueness that they used a local herb to make this special belizian concoction. Cant go back to back with it, but that's why its seasonal!.

Pours a small off white half finger head. Fairly clear deep brownish body. Poor retention on the head as it dies quite quick.
Smells like a winter spiced sweet beer. Some cinnamon and brown sugar malty sweetness. Maybe a bit of roast and yeast.
Tastes fairly sweet, again some cinnamon and maple
syrupiy flavor. This does not taste like a stout, only a touch of roast which is overwhelmed with the spices and sweetness.
Medium thin bodied. Medium to low carbonation.
Finish is a bit sticky and coating.
Overall this doesn't beer doesn't come together. Sweet sticky and spice is not my idea of a holiday stout. More body and roast is needed.
Thanks Bryan for bring this back from the source.

Was luckly enough to pick this beer up in Belize because I was there around the holiday, when this beer is released. Basically this is the version of their stout with sorrel added to it. Sorrel according to wikipedia is: Common sorrel has been cultivated for centuries. The leaves may be puréed in soups and sauces or added to salads; they have a flavour that is similar to kiwifruit or sour wild strawberries. The plant's sharp taste is due to oxalic acid, which is a poison. In small quantities sorrel is harmless; in large quantities it can be fatal.....hmm good thing I only had one.
This is basically the same as their stout with a little sweeter taste, nice to see a country with a limited amount of beer like Belize do a little something different with their beer.
