A Belgian Dubbel fermented with 480lbs of whole raspberries, Belgian Ale Yeast, Belgian candi sugar, Hallertauer Hops, and Oak chips. Deep red in color with a powerful raspberry punch.

Pours out a color that reminded me of a cranberry/vodka, but it formulated a slight pink head 1/5". Aroma was of sweet more than sour raspberry, markedly so.
Taste also fell in that direction, similar to Lindeman's in their non cuvee renee series, went for the sweetness instead of sour. They go bigger in their malt base than a traditional lambic does, I dunno might not have that unmalted wheat thing either. This is just heartier and earthier. More caramel. At this level of sweetness though it is barely distinguishable as a beer, has just as much in common with some malternative tasting stuff. Didn't expect this much carbonation.
As a lambic this is decidedly below average. As a fruited wheat ale, it is average. The raspberry here too sugary. That is the main problem with the beer.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a tulip.
Appearance: rich red-orange hue with just a dash of haze and a thin layer of frothy pinkish foam. I love the color on this one.
Smell: sweet and malty with a big raspberry nose. Bright and fruity, a well-done example of the style.
Taste: much like the aroma, although the sweetness is in ascendence over the tartness in the flavor. There's a nice caramel underpinning as well which really works for me, as well as a bit of a floral cue. Not as tart as I'd prefer, but still quite tasty.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a moderate carbonation and decent creaminess.
Overall: this beer could use more tartness, but the raspberry, caramel and floral elements make this eminently drinkable.

Pretty much tastes like Nyquil, just less alcoholic and generally not as enjoyable to drink.

I hate flavored beers. It has a great dark appearance but again, cannot compare to an equally great appearance in a copper or amber colored ale, its a different thing. Remarkable pinkish purple head. Smells good like a fruity drink but purely tastes like a hard soda pop or something of that nature. Strong hints of grapes and berries mask the alcoholic taste although I believe it as an extra boost in alc cont. seeing as it has almost been fermenting in the keg. All in all i would say try it if you're into fruity beers. for me it is certainly not my thing. The chick on the tap handle is quite delicious herself. I love poring these.

On tap at the brewpub.
A: a very attractive red--orange color; clear with a very durable off-white head and patterned sticky lacing.
Aroma: wonderful mix of fresh strawberries, strawberry jam and bisquits.
Flavor: At first it is mildly sweet but, by mid-taste, a bit more tart, with mild bitterness in the aftertaste. Faint wood.
Feel: light+ body; Soft and smooth; medium carbonation.
O: excellent version of this Belgian style!
