I poured a 12 ounce capped brown bottle into a pint glass.

A: It poured a clear yellowish body with tons of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. There was a slight quarter finger white head that disappeared fast leaving a small white ring around the collar. There was spotty and temporary lacing.

S: I tried hard but did not find much of an aroma to speak of. There were slight hints of grains but no spices or distinct aromas.

T: It had a thin, sweet front with a tangy, zesty and spicy back. The flavors were diluted and temporary. There was moderate carbonation and a hit of bitter aftertaste.

M: It had a light body with a zesty carbonation and slightly sour aftertaste.

D: It would be an good beer with hot and spicy food on a hot, dusty, and humid day. Not much of a beer if flavor is a goal. But for hydration and refreshment it is a decent brew.

355ml can. So many latent hockey memories being dragged to the surface by the scratched ice imagery of the label...

This beer pours a clear, medium golden straw colour, with two fat fingers of thin puffy white head, which leaves a single raised island archway of lace on one side of the glass as it readily abates. It smells of sweet creamed corn, a bit of virtuous grain, mild diacetyl, some expired fruit esters, and softly underwhelming earthy hops. So far, very much the classy malt liquor. The taste is more neutral grain, less corn and rice, but still balanced fairly amongst them all, a slightly acrid edge that has to be the booze, and a tiny drying note that may just be the ghost of hops past. Yup, posh malt liquor. The carbonation is a bit zingy, and on the nose, but generally inoffensive, the body medium-light, a bit fruity in its bearing, and smooth enough, the lingering cloyingness kept well back. It finishes drier than anticipated, a little warm, with a low-profile mustiness.

Style firmly in mind, I can't say that this is all that bad. It's pretty much Canadian with a little extra muscle, and sweetness, but without the extra skank.

Straw yellow with nice creamy white head, dissipates quick and leaves mild lacing.Nose is grains, wet grass with sour notes in there.Taste was rather pleasant, same as the nose but going down rather refreshing with a creamy feel to it,dry finish with a mild hint of bitterness, not bad at all for a macro beer, don't notice the higher abv at all, medium to lite body, could down a few of these.

A very good ice beer, in my humble judgement. It lacked the common heavy alcohol laced flavor that is found in so many ice beers. I noticed that the beer seemed almost sweet, and had notes of corn and barley. Overall one of the better ice beers that are available today. Worth a try for adventure seekers.
