Since my macro days are for the most part over, this will be a rare review for me. In a panic last Saturday night, I had to drink on a budget, and since I was $2 short for a Double Bastard, I had to think cheap. A six-pack of cans was on sale for the appealing price of $2.99. At least I had sunday beer, for this state does not allow the purchase of beer outside of bars on the sabbath.
This cheap "beer" came packaged in red, white, and blue cans that look eerily like diet pop. The beer pours out an unappealing lemonade color.
The smell was almost non-existent, as was the head. A little wave of froth popped its head when the can was poured, but it instantly dissapated.
The taste was not much of a surprise for a macro: a miniscule hint of hops and malt, then a relatively well-mixed attack of adjunct - I believe corn in this case. Very watery, but not offensive in taste like Budweiser.
Overall, this beer is not too darn bad for what it is, much better than any of the bigger American macros, but not too darn good either. I'll probably save this for gameday drinking and/or drinking on a budget.
