A smooth, mellow beer of moderate sweetness, not too bitter and slightly malty.

UPDATE: This was a review of a Molson Golden brewed in Canada. I do not endorse, and no longer buy, Molson Golden brewed in Colorado, USA.

Poured the beer from a bottle into a wide-mouthed, chilled glass.

-Appearance 4.0: Beautiful light golden color. This is a deeper gold than any other lager I can think of. Slight head. Carbonation visible; very small bubbles.

-Smell 4.5: Smells...very good. I smell slight yeast, hops, grains...there is also something else in there that I cannot put my finger on. Very refreshing just to smell this beer.

-Taste 4.5: Smooth taste, slight hoppy flavor. Nice barley notes and a very refreshing taste. I could see myself drinking these all night!

-Mouthfeel 4.0: Very "big" mouthfeel. An almost perfect level of carbonation. Few lingering tastes afterward. Smooth and enjoyable.

-Overall 4.5: Refreshing, reliable and delicious. Goes well with food, but I reserve it as an always dependable session beer.

Molson Golden is a highly underrated beer. I consider it to be the best Macro-beer brewed in North America. I think some people have had bad experiences because of skunkiness caused by the green bottle, which is a shame. Try to find a bottle with a "best by" date at least three months away.

$10.99 for a twelve pack in Acworth, GA.

Look: Crystal clear, deep golden color. Almost no head at all with some decent carbonation bubbling up through it.
Smell: Definitely smells skunky for sure. Not too bad smelling though. Not off-putting or anything as I don't mind it. I can maybe smell a hint of citrus beneath it. The tiniest hint of bread underneath that. Skunk takes over the scent though for sure.
Taste: A nice flavor for sure. It's got that classic lager flavor. The bottle says taste of an ale and lager, but I haven't had too many ales. This is good though. Definitely a step up from Coors Light. I would say on par with Coors Banquet, but definitely not as sweet. This has a more biting flavor, but not unpleasant at all. A good decent beer.
Feel: Not super thin, not super great either though. A tad coarse almost. I like how it sticks around in your mouth decently well. Not the best, but not the worst at all.
Overall: A good beater beer. I like this quite a bit personally for what it is. It is no high end German beer or craft brew, but it is an easy drinking, decent tasting lager that I would have no issues buying again.

Pretty average beer, not like I remember.
Also label says PRODUCT OF USA. That just seems wrong

I remember when this was an ale, not a lager. At that time it was pretty good- in fact it was the #1 imported beer in America. Why they changed it to this poor attempt of a lager is my biggest question.

I haven't had this beer in over 25 years and now I know why. Starts with a sour, funky aroma. Taste follows the aroma but is somewhat muted(thankfully). I know my tastes have changed, but I couldn't find much to like about this beer.

When I first started drinking beer it was Busch, Miller, and Shlitz…. then I tried Molson Golden. That’s all my friends and I drank, now fast forward 40 years, it’s okay I don’t hate it I just out grew it.

Ehhh. It says on the bottle “specially brewed for the unique flavor of an ale and a lager.” Problem is, its a weak ale and weaker lager. This could be okay if it wasn’t so watered down.

Molson Golden Lager, 5% - clear straw gold color with a frothy white cap of foam, solid lager aroma and taste with mild corn, grains, and hops. Better than most! Cheers!

Molson Coors Canada "Molson Golden"
12 fl. oz. green glass bottle coded "SEP2622 13 61020040408". Sampled on MAY1222.
$12.99/12-pk @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a gold to deep golden body beneath a finger's width of white foam. The aroma is sweetish and just lightly grainy; it's obvious that this is an adjunct beer. The hops are as expected: light, non-specific, and in the background. The flavor follows pretty closely. It's lightly sweet and threaded through with delicately spicy and herbal hop notes. There's also a delicate apple-like fruitiness to it. As far as bitterness goes there's just enough to balance it and it teeters on becoming sweet. It finishes with a drop of sweet malt and apple lingering, and then some emerging hops as the malt erodes. The head dropped fairly quickly althought plenty of fine bubbles can be seen rising steadily below. I'd say that's about average, and the lacing follows suit. In the mouth it's medium-light in body and gently crisp. All in all it's not bad for what it is.

Molson Golden is perfect beer before Oktoberfest. From when it gets hot, in N. Hemisphere, around memorial day to labor day this beer quenches your thirst, leaves a nice crisp up front flavor then a corn and hop finish. Drink this ice cold in July and August. But when September rolls around it is change to another beer. At middle of September I stock up on Oktoberfests since they are best and seasonal. Granted you can get Molson Golden all year round, and I did get a case of this in winter, but this is a summer beer. I wish Golden was a 5.5 or 5.7 at only 5%abv it is on par with Labatt blue, granted different flavors. This is a typical adjunct lager that is designed to be consumed with speed. This beer reminds me of fishing on 1000 islands in a boat which is illegal in Canada. Good times. I say 3.25 overall but certainly not "poor" this is a good beer and deserves respect for being a good macro. I know the men with man buns would argue that IPAs are better blah blah blah, but for an import and being a beginner beer for the 16 to 20 crowd down the tracks, or in the woods this is a tasty beer. I guess the use of corn makes it cheap too but for a Adjunct lager this is what is expected.

Drank ridiculous quantities of this in college in Rochester. Molson dominated there. We used to fill the bed of a pickup truck for bottle returns weekly. While fond memories and nostalgia drive a likely higher-than-deserved rating, I do believe this still tastes okay, and quenches the thirst, on a hot summer day.

I cannot believe I've never reviewed This old time classic. This Beer was once regarded as the high end of Imports, my dad and older friends really thought there was something extra special about Canadian imports...maybe there was circa. 1993?? I don't know, but it really did seem exotic to be when I was 16.

Soo here we go.....
It couldn't be more clear gold. Watery, pale gold. Thin, scattered white foam lace.

Sweet corn and green hop with sour, yesstie aroma all over.

Subtle, clean...easy feel like water, but with fermented canned corn and wheat. Crisp bite, then smooth with a green, corn, wheat and long malty flavor. Subtle, easy, mundane.

It's a $7.00 6 pack bro!
