Bright and clear straw-yellow colored, with a big white head of tight foam that lingers longs.

Low aroma of corn, grainy sugar and floral notes.

Flavor of sweet and syrupy maltiness initially, followed by some mild phenolic band-aid notes. Some sweet apple and pear emerges also. Alcohol does not seem to detract.

Slick and slippery mouthfeel, but finishes a bit crisp.

Average drinkability, actually better than I expected.

Pours out to a clear dark golden, forming a modest rocky white head with good retention and some moderate lacing. Moderate carbonation. The aroma is of macro-twang, some pale malts, a decent hop presence in the vein of a pilsener and a little touch of alcohol. Mouthfeel is wet, smooth, moderate body. The flavor isn't too bad here...it's macro, but with more body. There is a decent underlying body, some well-balanced malt sweetness with some decent hop flavor and mild hop bitterness. Cleanly fermented with not many off flavors, although there is a faint higher alcohol flavor hanging in the aftertaste.

Overall, as far as "Ice" beers and malt-liqours go, this ain't too bad. I would drink it again, but I wouldn't pay more than $5.99/6 for it.

look: 3 | smell: 2 | taste: 2 | feel: 2.5 | overall: 2

Appearance: Pours a clear, golden body with a small, white head.

Smell: Chemically, corny aroma with some faux floral hints and a bit of booze.

Taste: Vague palt maltiness with a big drizzle of corn syrup. Medium-high sweetness that, at times, can get a bit gacky. Fake flowers. Touch of alcohol. Drying, mercifully quick finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: Not good, but at least it wasn't as noxious or off-putting as some of it's ilk.

Solid white head sits above a gold bodied beer.
Produces some decent lacing.

Smells are super sweet with alcohol.

Taste is actually not as horrible as I expected. There is a good body that makes teh first sip actually slightly enjoyable. I have a feeling this will change. Ah, there it is... a slightly harsh flash of alcohol and grain. I am pretty sure there is a good bit of corn in this beer producing that adjuncty flavor and well as giving the mouthfeel a slight creaminess.
I really think the mouthfeel is what saves this beer from being completely unfit for consumption.
There's not a ton of flavor, but it isn't completely offensive in what is there. I can feel this numbing my brain though, so I won't finish the 25.4 fluid oz black can proudly displaying the ominous XXX. Molson XXX, Super Premiums Beer? It is two out of those three.

Poured from 12oz to standard pint, 3 finger white head, a nice golden amber hue.

smells of alcohol, rice, malt, yeast, corn

taste is sugary sweet, like yeast has been feeding off of sugar to boost alcohol (a typical malt liquory taste i suppose) , apples, corn, kinda astringent, fairly easy to drink for abv, bitterness, nothing really unique or tasty

mouthfeel is dry, watery and bitter

def. not the best malt liquor i've had, but hey - not completely horrible either.. i thought it drank fairly smooth for what it was.

One thing I like about this is that it comes in a 12oz. I know that a bigger bottle results in cheaper beer, but a 40oz of malt liquor is too much for me to handle.

This stuff is pale yellow with a fizzy white head. The nose is of corny alcohol. Flavor profile was very bitter. An average light body. Well, even a 12oz is too much.

Drank this tailgaiting, which I am convinced is the only way to drink a beer like this. It pours clear yellow with a foamy head. Aroma is sweet with notes of vegetables and corn.

Well it'll put hair on your chest, but that's not a good thing here. I think the key to drinking a beer like this is to just not think about it. Unlike more innocuous macros, this one is on a mission to get you drunk, fast, and with wreckless abandon. Despite that, I found myself knocking back 3 before it was all said and done. But it's not something I would recommend unless you want to get drunk on the cheap.

I actually picked this up because,.. #1. I was intrigued by the product, and #2, I had company coming over and I wanted a macro type brew available for those "less adventurous" towards my normal stash. I actually used to drink Molson Golden and have sampled Molson Canadian and Molson Ice at the Hockey game, and thought that this may be a step up. Wrong!

Poured a straw yellow, with one finger head. My glass was frosted, and it seemed to diminish the head rather quickly. Smell of grain and corn, and the alcohol hits immediately on the palate. Quite watery, with a heavy alcohol tasting finish.

Overall, not very impressed. Luckily, my guests did not even try one. Opinion?... not one of Molsons better products.

the first molson i had was as a freshman in high school. two buddies and i sucked down a twelver of molson golden. we loved it. i have liked molson for a long time.

with that being said, this is not good beer. pale color, alcohol smell and taste. not much else to say. it lacks character, body, and just about everything else. i have four more from my sixer, i guess i will finish them with some hot wings since i dont like the taste anyway

suckem up and movem out.

Picked this up because I was broke, and I liked Molson Canadian. Big mistake.

Poured a clear golden yellow, nothing fancy, alot of head, last about 10 minutes and then disappeared, left minor lacing.

Smell was..alcohol..not much else, maybe a bit of malt.

Initial taste was a bit sour, alot of alcohol and a super sweet finish. Felt miserable after my first sip.

Mouthfeel wasn't great either, not alot of carbonation, felt undercarbonated.

Drinkability is low, if you want a session beer with a tad higher ABV, like this ones 7.3, look elsewhere. Even if your broke, try something else.

CAN you dig what I'm sayin'? The CAN kick is now in full swing. Luv ya, can! 25.4 Fl. Oz., baby!

My best aggro pour only resulted in a finger's worth of head, but it had good retention. The color was a deep yellow with NE-quality clarity. The nose had an underlying sweetness with a sharply overlaying scent of alcohol. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full with a sharp alcohol taste on the tongue. Finish was sweet, sickly sweet, in fact. It tasted like candy and I know what that means - lots of fermentable sugars = liquid crack. My skull began to hatch like an egg and I thought of a buddy who had suffered a debilitating illness and used Molson Ice (BT) to wean himself off of the meds that he had been prescribed. Halfway through and I began to question the wisdom of drinking the two half-of-a-55-GL drum CANS in my fridge back-to-back. One, it was a lot of liquid; two, it was high octane; three, it disqualified me from ever operating heavy machinery in my lifetime. It was the bubble gum-like finish that got me. I hate that in hefes, so why would I like it in a non-descript mass-market malt liquor?

This beer pours a bright yellow color with a short and airy white head that laces the glass some on the way down. The smell is of faint malts, faint hops, and then alcohol. The taste is mainly of booze with some faint light malts and some hoppy bitterness at the end. The mouthfeel is crisp but kind of harsh due to the amount of alcohol in it. The drinkability is not very good, but if you're looking for a beer just to get you drunk, this is it.

Clear, golden yellow body was fairly good looking, and the good deal of forced carbonation resulted in a thin but durable head. The smell was better than I was expecting. Sweet corn smell was in there for sure, but a touch of hops was noticeable as well. Taste was sugary, syrupy, and watery, and there was not much flavor to be had from this over processed beer. It was not off putting by any means, just bland. A slight hop bitterness and a sourish aftertaste was the only nod towards complexity, intentional or otherwise. Not a bad feeling beer, as the body was creamy and a little sticky. Good thing I only picked up a single of this one from Green's, as one is probably good to get the review under the notch. Two would be one too many.

Bought an oil can size (25.4 oz.) Poured golden with a slight orange hue. White foam that quickly disappeared.
Had a light metallic oder that was mixed with a dirty cloths smell.

Thin on the pallet with no noticeable body or substance in the taste. No distinctiveness other than the metallic oder and alcohol. No identifiable ingrediants other than corn as a filler.

As a brewery, Molson gets a black eye on this one.

Molson XXX, or Bottled Liquid Death as I often call it, pours a thin patch of white foam on a light golden body. While Molson got the bottle color right for a change, they still managed to screw up the smell, leaving faint sweet, sugary corn malt. If there is a hop smell in here, I couldn't find it. Same with the taste, bringing sugar sweetness, no bite, and no complexity. Rancid.

Worse, this is actually flat soon after being poured, utterly inexcusable. Do yourself a favor, and grab a sixer of Canadian instead of this wretch. This is only suitable for self-obliteration accompanied by hours of bad break-up music. Horrible.

Poured out of a 12oz brown bottle into a pint glass.

A--Dark yellow body with a faint off white head.

S--Sulfur, skunk and alcohol (yes, and nothing else)

T--Sweet malt and alcohol. No hop flavor at all.

D--Practically undrinkable. Did I say practically? I am a very staunch supporter of Molson products. I really like Canadian and some of there others. Molson Ice (long ago) was the first drink I could actually handle. To drink this is just tragic. Vote with you mouth and don't drink this. Don't even try.

25.4 oz can into bicentennial Mason jar.

A: Doesn't look that bad. Full one hand head on top of a golden color. Decent head retention and lacing.

S: Vodka and malts and grains, not so great.

T: Cheap vodka mixed with cheap American macro lager. Instead of the taste growing on me its getting worse. The first drink really wasn't that bad but as I near the bottom of my jar I just might be dumping the rest out.

M: Lots of carbonation with a light body.

D: Way too cheap alcohol tasting. I like regular Molson quite a bit, but not this one. Super Premium Beer it is not.

This was my first experience with any Molson product.

Straw-colored, hardly any head, looks pretty watery. Smells like alcohol and corn, especially at room temperature.

The flavor is generic, corny macro-ness, though I'd say it's above average for malt liquor and a hair better than BMC crap. DO NOT let these get warm; like most macros, they get rather brutal at room temperature.

I rated drinkability low, since it's pretty watery stuff, and because it's 7.3% ABV, which will definitely sneak up on you if you drink too many of these. My buddy drank 6 or 7 in about two and a half hours, and needless to say didn't feel 100% the next morning.

If I'm shopping for beer on a budget, I'd grab some Labatt Blue or Killians over this any day. XXX, like all malt liquor, is clearly aimed at getting a quick buzz, and I'm not really into that.

I was craving an ice cold lager. So, I settled on Molsonn XXX, cause I have not had any in a while, and even though it is not the best lager in the world, the 7.3%/abv makes up for it.

Poured into a frozen pint glass.

A - Pale Gold color, with virtually no head, what little it had went away quickly.

S - I can smell a little bit of the malt. But other than that, not much else.

T - Nothing noticable, not much hop flavor. Not horrible though.

M - Has a medium carbonation

D - Very easy to drink. Wouldn't be hard to quaff a few of these in a sitting, however the 7.3% abv will come up and bite you.

Wasnt expecting much from this beer..other than spiked alchohol.
Beer looked pretty good. Very crisp and clean looking...light straw in color. Medium white head. No lacing to speak of.
Smelled a bit metallic..almost harsh with a bit of sweetness of corn maybe.
Taste was somewhat mild. No malt or hopspresent...although a bit of a burn in the swallow.
Very thin in mouthfeel.
Not a very good beer.

From the "beer tub" at my Bud’s hockey opener. Yellow-gold.., instantly vanishing cap...fizzy... reeks of fusil,,tastes sweet and rough...alcohol bite and a fast finish This is so bad I bet Steelback is envious they didn’t brew it. complete shit.... but perfect for trailer park meet and greets or campus pub brawls or waking up with your teeth missing...or soothing a busted ankle after an old timers game you were out of shape to play in the first place.

a: My Dad had one in the fridge, so why not. Poured into a pilsner glass. Nice white head that doesn't quickly fade and leaves pretty heavy lacing. The beer is golden in color.

s: Smells like a standard 40 oz. malt liquor, but not really as offensive. Lightly metallic at times. Sweet grainy aromas with some bland hops. I like my ML aromas to be a little more pungent on the corn and grain side.

m: Lively, high carbonation and body on the full side of light.

t: Not really bad at all, but I'm sure glad it's cold. Pale malty start sports a moderate sweentess and the standard grainy flavors. Not much hop flavor to speak of...it's there, but it's very plain. Pretty rough around the edges, probably part alcohol and part subpar ingredients. Cleans up well with a moderate bitterness but a slightly harsh aftertaste.

d: pretty good for the style and ABV

Drank it right out of the bottle on a 95 degree day. Bad choice.
Wasn't able to get a look at it. Never made it to a glass,
Smell was alcohol, some grain.
Taste. Alcohol, grainy.
This is a beer that will impress only based on its alcohol content, but I have had many other beers with higher alcohol content that had flavor, character, and not dominated by alcohol. This one is a single purpose beer. Get drunk fast.

Now this was a heavy powerful beer. I definately give it credit for being a WAY better quality malt though. I thought it had kind of a strange finish, meaning it left a lingering taste. It does come from the Molson line so it makes it a well brewed beer, but it is definatly not on my list of most drank beers, sorry guys!!!!

12 oz brown bottle

Molson XXX poured a clear deep color with a smaller white head that dissipated rather fast. Aroma and taste is of alcohol [solvent like], light malt and adjuncts. It’s crisp in the mouth with a fizzy carbonation that bounces on the tongue.

Molson XXX sure fits the Malt Liquor style. Its legacy will be one of alcohol over taste.
