Fat (phat) can served in a pilsner glass.

L - clear brassy color with a off-white head that vanished in 2 minutes.

S - grainy sweetness with a light hint of fuel.

T - grainy and bitter upfront leading to a bit of an odd sweet twang and some fusel alcohol.

F - medium bodied with mild carbonation.

O - it's a friggin malt liquor what did you expect?

Had one of these left over from playoff hockey. Figured I'd review it.

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a crystal clear golden colourwith a fizzy one finger head that never really fully went away, just faded into a white halo and thin wisps.

S - Some light malts, corn, and even some fruit sweetness. Surprisingly good nose and the ABV isnt really detecteble.

T - This is more of what I expect. There is some malt sweetness, and some corn, but mostly you're tasting the 7.30% ABV in every sip and it only gets worse as the beer warms up.

M - Crisp and dry thanks to the carbonation, but the high ABV is definately noticeable.

O - Overall this isnt a bad macro. Its high ABV can really creep up on you, and once it warms up it tastes hideous, but for what it costs its worth the money.

For those who drink ass water just to get smashed (which is hopefully no one here), Molson XXX could be the way to go. It has more alcohol than any typical frat house party beer, same great taste -- which is nonexistent. Unfortunately (for the party), it doesn't come in a 30-rack of miserable cans.

My first Molson XXX was in a can, and a few years ago. It wasn't too bad then, or so I thought. I've been trying to get into micro brews and craft beer these days, so going back to Molson now? I should have cherished my first time.

The beer smells and tastes and looks like any typical, cheap malt liquor. Disgusting, and no other words can describe it. It's almost like drinking a Coors Light, just with nearly double the alcohol. But what can you expect when the two major companies, Molson and Coors, collide to produce some disgusting waste?

Hopefully this doesn't deem as slamming the beer, but I wasn't expecting my "second time" a few years later to be this awful. There really isn't much to say about this beer.

Thanks for the cotton mouth, Molson-Coors!

This beer often gets a pretty bad rap and it isn't fair because this beer isn't that bad at all. The first time I tasted it I thought it tasted a lot like a quality craft brew. It's pretty high in alcohol content and has a heavy feel but that can't really come as a surprise considering it's 7.30 abv. Don't listen to the people that trash talk this beer until you try it for yourself. If you like heavier beers, give this one a shot.

Pours a nice golden yellow color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger foamy white head, with some sticky lacing to follow. The nose is grainy, slightly sweet, and some rice notes. The taste is sweet, slightly malty, grainy/ricy. Medium Body. I use to like just about anything from this brewery before, but not anymore.

Appearance: Light golden color, head settles quickly leaving a very thin lacing.

Smell: Light, sweet smell.

Taste: Slightly metallic, bittersweet taste with minimal aftertaste.

Drinkability: Easy to become accustomed to the taste of this beer, it is farily light and goes down smooth enough.

Serving Type: Bottle.

Personal Note: I actually really enjoy Molson XXX. My rating is relatively low because in terms of beer, it's a bit wanting.

I drink this beer regularly (typically a case per week), and find that I've grown relatively fond of the taste of it.
I find that it's a great burger/grill food combination.

Lastly, at 7.3% ABV, I don't believe that you will find as light a tasting beer as this, with the same alcohol content.

Another one of my first beers that i was told to check out because it was "A Good Beer". Needless to say I found out soon enough that this beer isn't as good as the guy had told me. It's appearance is of just about any standard Pale Lager, a clear golden yellow color and foamy head. This had a fishy taste in my opinion. Kind of turned me off from ever having this again.

Bottle (from Duty Free at the tunnel) poured into a tumbler.

A- Giant, foamy white head with loads of carbonation in a clear, golden body. Great stick.

S- Lots of cooked corn adjuncts in the aroma with white bread accents. Almost a rubbing alcohol when warmer.

T- Assertive cornbread flavor. Slight alcohol. Slight sweetness. Little hop presence.

M- Foamy and bubbly carbonation. Light alcohol bite. Decently full bodied. Seemed "thicker" as it warmed.

D- Flavorful enough to limit myself to 2 in a sitting. Not good enough to crave more. Overall, not the worst beer I can think of. (Yinpu anybody?)

Pours a golden hue with lots of head and bubbles.

The aroma is very sweet and you can smell the alcohol.

Upon tasting you can pick up the alcohol too, but it masked with a malty sweetness but doesn't have a strong flavor to it.

Heavily carbonated. I almost couldn't swish it around in my mouth because of all the carbonation.

I would drink it again. It wasn't bad per say and the 7.3% alcohol does come in handy sometimes. I guess its all about what your in the mood for... If you want an easy drinking beer to get ya tipsy fast, this is your beer. But if you want to sit and enjoy a complex beer, this is not it.

A- Typical clear piss yellow lager body with a massive white head and tons of lacing.

S- Awful, a faint rotton egg aroma mixed with corn and grain.

T- Taste vacillates between nothing and corn, not as terrible as the nose, but definitely not tasty.

M- Cant expect much here it feels like it should feel, thin and watery.

D- There are better ways to get drunk.

Big 25.4oz can, a paltry $2.29 from Lebanon Village Market in Lebanon NH. Code Jun1211 08225L. Served cold in a pilsner glass. It dribbled a bit on my desk, the can doesn't pour very well.

A: Clear, fizzy, pale yellow brew gives a big 3" of white head that settles after a while. Actually a pretty good looking brew. Head has decent retention, leaves spotty chunky lace and forms interesting 3D structure as it degrades.

S: Dear god. Smells like metal and hydrochloric acid. Like something you'd use to eat the algae off the bottom of a boat that had been in the water for a long time. I guess that's one way to hide this much EtOH in a brew this thin.

T: Mix of acid and alcohol up front and throughout. A good dose of metal. A bit of corny sweetness peeks out mid-palate. No hops at all. Finishes with alcohol on my breath and metal in my mouth.

D: Thin and watery, with a weird bit of corn sweetness viscosity. Serve this brew no more than ice cold and it might be tolerable. I put it in the freezer before attempting to finish the rest.

I probably haven't had this since college (~10yrs?) and I don't remember it being nearly this bad. Has my palate evolved delicate sensitivities, or has this gotten worse, or is this a bad can? Who knows. Battery acid. Battery acid. Bleh. Drain pour the rest (2/3 of it)

I may take some flak for this, but I actually enjoy this beer on it's own merits. Lemme explain....

First had this at a hockey game when the Thrashers were playing the Maple Leafs and the beer line wanted to cater to the audience. When in Rome, drink Molson, (if they're out of Peroni, I guess) so I waved my cash and asked for the black can.

Since then I've had this many times away from the ice and it still tickles my fancy.

Strong gold color with a healthy cream head that lingers before evaporating. Decent carbination in the pour and the bubbles stick around for a while.

The aroma does leave something to be desired. I used to sling malt liquor in the UK to the drunks; Special Brew, the purple tin, Kestrel Super, etc.. Sadly, this brew tingles the nose the way those regulars smelled, but they drank that stuff like water, so I can't hold it *that* much against this brew.

I found the mouthfeel to be rich and full and easy to drink. The alcohol was hidden well and didn't burn at all. Hints of corn and adjunct on the palate, granted, but again I knew what I was getting into when I bought this.

Overall drinkability is good.

Some of us can't drink Uncle Pliny's Arrogant Hop Enema each and every day, so this does the trick for me on those occasions when I'm half-way to payday and need something better than Yuengling or PBR.

I personally like it, but taste is a subjective thing.

Poured from a 25.4 ounce can into a beer glass.

Appearance: The best feature of this beer is the head, hands down. Thick, yet airy, like a cumulus cloud. Dimples slowly down to meet the slightly darkened straw colored beer. Medium carbonation is visible. Not bad from the get-go.

Smell: Fresh popcorn, faint bitter hop aromas, very light malt base. Only a touch of alcohol is present in the nose. In that it is NOT unpleasant, I give it just a touch above average.

Taste/Mouthfeel: For a malt liquor, there's a lot of good flavor here. Beer starts out crisply, with some initial bitterness. As the beer warms on the tongue, the malt actually comes through with some subtle sweetness, almost a melon-like quality. Texture becomes slightly chewy, allowing for the flavor to be released. Aftertaste is almost non-existent, which I have found to be a positive quality with most malt liquors.

Drinkability: Cold, it's a great malt liquor. I'm not so sure how I would feel about it served at room temperature...so I won't wait too long to finish this brew.

Nice job Molson for making a decent Malt Liquor...a style renowned for its inability to achieve in taste what it achieves in ABV.

This adjunct pours a clear golden, with medium lace that dissipates quickly.
Nose is actually pleasant, though corny.
Flavor is quite sweet, again, adjunct and corn/ricey, but smooth.
Nothing special or remarkable, aside from the high 7.3% ABV that it boasts of on the bottle. If flavor isn't your thing, but getting drunk is, here's your poison.

12 oz bottle from Ken brought back from Pennsylvania, Thanks, I think. Poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: Decent looking light golden beer with a quickly settling head that leaves a thin lacing.

Smell: Sweet cereal grains with no hops bitterness or fruit, just some solvently alcohol.

Taste: Sweet grains; not much else going on.

Mouthfeel: Moutfeel is halfway decent, carbonation is fine.

Drinkability: Taste makes this one undesirable. Will not seek out again.

24 oz can into a frosty glass

A - light yellow wheat, pale and fizzy, ironicly head leaves a little bit of lace around the glass, slight urine color

S - lemon, old grass smell

T - metallic taste, slight alcohol, and strange chemical essence

M - Light and smooth but slightly oily, not good oily like an IPA but like i just licked the Exxon Valdez.

D - Unless, I've had quite a few glasses of burbon and actually good beer and didn't know what i was thinking, absolutely not.

Overall a horrible beer, I used to drink Molson Canadian in college and was a big fan, but this has got to be one of the worst offsprings of the Molson company, excuse me while I try to correct the flavor with a finer malt liquor like an Old English... Yeah, it sucks that bad

A - Pours a yellow gold color with a thick, creamy, frothy, two fingered head with massive amounts of carbonation.

S - Pungently aromatic with lots of lemons, grass, dry crackery malt, and some very mild and delicate herbal spice.

T - Mimics the nose with lemon grass, mild herbaly character, and a mild lemon twang that sits on the tongue to finish with a crackery lemon and mildly sweet finish.

M - Grainy, prickly, somewhat harsh and borderline light/medium body.

D - I can handle one, but then again, I can't really - ended up dumping the last third of the glass. If you're on a budget and want to get seriously messed up, buy a case of this stuff. For a lager, it's pretty serious octane.

Now listen, I can be as beer snobby as the next guy. But just because a guy likes his casks and the Belgian street in Williamsburg doesn't mean he can't slum it once in a while. This isn't a good brew. Really it's not and I understand that. However, sometimes you have to let your inner college sophomore out to play for a while and this oversweet, grainy, corn infested rotgut does that for me.

It's pee yellow with a clingy cap and astringent maize for a nose. The taste is sweet alcohol and nasty, chemical hops on the roof of the mouth. It is, however, a malt liquor and by that that standard it's not too bad. It's only directive is to kill brain cells and form smiles and it does that for me.

one of the worst i have had in a while. grabbed this one out of the fridge and poured it into a pint glass, consumed on 08/25/2010.

dull amber color gives way to loads of carbonation and a light puff of white that quickly fades and leaves a barren top across the glass.

aroma is off, skunked is the best word, with a boozy note that dominates at first. lots of off grain and malts, nothing really saving this one at all, in any way, its just nit gonna work for me. flavor is about the same, a little heavy, but carbonation keeps it from being syrup like, but still just not going to work for me as it was painful to take each sip.

overall i would have to pass and say never again, could not and would not do this one,

Pours pale gold with a white fizzy head. This is a big can, so topping of keeps he head alive. No lacing, no bubbles.

Corn and light malt, and sweetness and alcohol. A hot sweet mess. Not really inviting.

Macro corn sweetness, some sweet bread and bitterness that is like grain husk, a bite of chemical alcohol, an d a sour/bitter finish. I guess the bitter husk was ok, but that's it.

Lighter bodied, but funny, a bit mouth coating. Alcohol gives you some pucker. It works.

I had this about 20 years ago. My oh my, has my palate changed. Hard to get this down. Bought as a novelty and glad I only got one, and that it was cheap. No reason to drink this. Strength of this beer is the only selling point.

This is one of the few beers that I like. Mainly for the rich malty hops taste that comes after a few moments of sipping it. Taste is not bitter but quite smooth for a strong beer. Alcohol level is pretty high, may be a bit more stronger than I think beers should have cauz it can give you a decent buzz in a couple.
This is one beer that I prefer to taste each sip rather than chug it down in no time.
Call me weird, but the last drop when the bottle is empty is my favorite of all.

The look is golden with a small head.
Zero aroma. I inhaled deeply got some light malt hints.
The taste on first sip was very sweet followed by light malt flavor. Teeny, tiny hops that fade super fast with light fruit/corn hints. low alcohol burn with medium carbonation and a medium body feel.

Notes: The balance was so off,the beer was just awful. The flavors clashed, the idea to sweeten it to mask all the cheap stuff just made it worse.

S: Smells musty again to me. I wonder what is in this beer that gives it that smell?

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Macado's Halloween 2009 shaker pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a translucent golden straw color with lots of carbonation bubbles. Has a thin, fizzy head that dissipates slowly and leaves little lacing.

Smell: Overly sweet and grainy. Typical macro territory here.

Taste: Relatively tasteless. Has a bit of a sickly sweet maltiness to it and a faint alcohol flavor.

Mouthfeel: Thin and watery.

Drinkability: Blehh... This is pure swill. I only got it to play a drinking game with and I'm pretty sure that's all it's good for.
