Potts is a great place to hang out in Ft. Collins. The Blonde is a yellow colored clear ale that has a limited head retention and lacing that dissipates over time. The smell is light, almost non-existent with some mild base malts and earthy hop tones. But only if you really look for them.

The taste has a little bit of a bite at the top. A good earthy hop tone with a slight metallic cling to it. Not really oily as the hops aren’t overwhelming but they are stronger then the malt. More of a German influence in the taste. There is a smooth malt flavor that is mostly made of basic malt. The appearance is a little deceiving in I expected less of a flavor, but this is present and somewhat backs the hops.

This is mostly for the light ale fans out there. Not to bad for lazy summer days.

The blonde is a yellow beer with awesome clarity and a creamy white head that fades fast and leaves ok lacing.

The aroma is a little nutty and toasted bread. Very clean and watery with faint backnotes of earthy hops.

The taste has a tingy bite in front but is very clean and toasty with nutty notes and faint earthy notes.

The mouthfeel is a bit watery,crisp, and refreshing with a creamy edge from the head that retains around.

Overall, a very clean, crisp and easy to drink beer.

A: A little translucent, straw-colored, rather pale. Very little carbonation visible.

S: A little bit of malt in the smell. Some vague hints of wheat, too. There's a pleasant sweetness to it.

T: Hints of malt complement a wheat-like taste. There's a background of sweetness to it, a base of honey that's kind of nice.

M: Fairly light, a little thin. Nothing special.

I've actually warmed to this beer over the years. It wasn't my favorite when I first tried it and honestly even Potts has better beers, but decent for this kind of ale.
