Nose: malt sweetness, hay, free-cut grass, some mild phenols and subtle hops.

Pours: clear straw with thin white rim of a head.

Taste: slight lemon, bitter malt with a dry finish. Also, slight phenols with an overall bitterness.

Mouthfeel: high carbination, makes the flavor bounce around the mouth. light bodied. No lacing.

Drink: medium to medium-high.

Overall: a good lager with nice phenols (which was suprising). crisp and clean flavor, good for a hot spring or summer day. Underrated on BA.

Better than PBR for the value; quite impressed for the price. Quite a basic pilsner taste, but there is a definite pilsner-like taste there, more so than say PBR. Typical grassy, light taste, yet pretty drinkable.

Overall: There is taste there, doesn't feel watered down, and is of extremely good value. Great budget buy.

12 oz can into a pint glass. Picking up from earlier proceedings...

A: Pours an ever-so-slightly murky golden color. The head is about two fingers high with a white shade and excellent creaminess. Retention is alright, shockingly. A nice ring of soft lacing is left on the glass. This has a genuinely attractive look.

S: Whoa, heavy on the diacetyl. It's kind of cotton candy-like, too. There are faint traces of hops, but they're really damn mild. Really uninspired for a pilsner, but hey, at least the adjunct qualities don't come off offensively! That's good, right?

T: There is, like, an assload of butterscotch flavor to start. Unlike the Simpler Times lager, it seems like someone bothered to throw a few hops in it, but not enough. Not much of a pilsner at all - it's just too damn sweet.

M: The first thing I notice: there's actually a twinge of dryness to counter all of the beer's sweetness. Second thing I notice: this is REALLY well carbonated, almost to the point of being harsh. It's easy to drink, like all cheap lagers should aspire to be.

O: I can't hate on it for $4 a six pack. Just like its identical cousin, it's a great choice for cheap drunkery. It's just a bit crisper/drier than its aforementioned cousin, and would make a decent hot weather beer. Personally though, I'd rather drink something else.

Found at Trader Joe's, which opened their first VT location several hours ago.

Pours a mild gold with a huge white head into my glass. It was cheap at $3.99 a six pack and two other varieties are available.

Light and easy on the nose. Bready texture.

A faint dose of hops greet the taste buds along with buttered bread. I'm not sure if it's all-grain or adjunct but it tastes very restrained.

Finishes clean too with only a touch of sweetness. Very clean.

This would make an awesome lawnmower beer. It's very easy to drink and the price is attractive. It gives me hope for the other varieties that are available.

I tried this out because I like Trader Joe's other products and I think they only carry quality stuff, but their beer only can be described as "passable." It has an average taste but nothing distinctive about it. Its also not as clean and crisp as a pilsner should be.

Number 4 in my mystery sixer thanks to Trader Joe's. I was disappointed to see this being a can but that is okay!

A-The can is simple and looks classy (for beer).

S-Has a PBR like taste in my opinion.

T-Reminds me of PBR to some extent but I am not overly excited about this beer.

M-Same as taste. . just okay.

O-I was surprised that in the end this beer was too weak for my blood.
