(Served in a teku)
A- This beer pours a dense brown glowing body with a gentle microbubble carbonation and a bubbly creamy light tan head that fades to a thin film.
S- The rich toffee and caramel malt notes are followed by a hint of smoke and dried wood with some pot caramel and black butter notes in the finish.
T- The slightly buttery toffee flavor is rich in malt character and has an English yeast ester note in the background. There are some roasted malt flavors in the finish that have a scorched black malt bitterness that softly lingers after each sip.
M- This beer has a medium-light mouthfeel with a gentle alcohol warmth and a soft fizz that scrubs a bit of the bitterness away.
O- This has some barleywine and stout characteristics with nice rich toffee notes and good support with the yeast character. The bitterness is a bit too strong but the alcohol and sweetness counteract it.

650ml bottle. Apparently inspired by the 'legend' of the Jackalope. What sort of grotesque hybrid does that imply here?
This beer pours a clear, very dark golden brown colour, with two fingers of foamy, puffy, almost creamy beige head, which leaves a thin paint job of lace around the glass in its not-too-hasty wake. It smells of bready, grainy malt, some oily nuttiness, and leafy, earthy hops. The taste is somehow sour, edgy fruit, over a stunned grainy malt, underpinned by some metallic booze, and beaten down, mugged earthy hops. The carbonation is average, the body on the light side (physically - metaphorically that's a whole other story), more than mildly astringent, and quite palate-depressing. It finishes a little sweet from the struggling 'malt', the acerbic, yet not really warming, booze cementing its stranglehold on this beast.
Wow, it started off so well, what could have gone wrong? I'll tell you - Minhas has found a new way to fuck with me - instead of obviously flaw-ridden, bottom of the barrel lagers, they're now pushing pseudo-craft offerings, which ring with the same sensibility as BMC's similar ilk (and they're in bombers, to boot!). This one looks good, smells decent enough, and then, whooosh - through the trap door you go. Like my previous experience with their, heh, chocolate stout, the aphorism "lipstick on a pig" was never more apt, and to play into their label chicanery: no, I wish that this beer was not for real, cheapest bomber around or not.

Bev store run after seeing the bone cracker..If I've never seen something before I just have to try it..
Pours a really deep, clear amber with a whopping two inch beige head. Head dropped to one inch after about 10 minutes and left Lots-O-Lace.
Smells initially of hops..subsequent sniffs had a medicinal quality along with said hop aroma.
Taste was slightly bitter hops..can't call them citrusy or piney...I really can't describe them...Not too much else going on here..maybe a bit chemical/medicinal.
Fairly light bodied with lots of carbonation.
Looks a lot better than it drinks!

Poured slightly chilled into a standard pint glass.
A=Rich, dark brown with slight reddish tint; whitish head of about 1 finger lasted about a minute.
S=Faint cocoa and malt smell...nothing much.
T=Fair amount of malt with hints of cola; slightly sweet. Nothing bad, just nothing outstanding.
M=A bit on the light side, making this an okay session beer.
O=If you are throwing a beer tasting party and want bombers to sample to start out newbies, this would be an outstanding example to serve to show newbies of what a slightly above average beer is. Should pair good with food...if this were available in 7 oz. shorties, I'd buy again...but otherwise, I would only buy if under $1 a bottle.

The beer pours almost like a can of Coke with a sudsy, bubbly head that quickly subsides leaving no lacing and no head. 3.0
The smell is of biscuit, bread, caramel, and lots of malt. 3.5
The taste is chocolate, coffee grounds, and an ashtray. I'm not kidding, it tastes like kissing my first girlfriend. She smoked Marlboro lights, but she taught me a lot. Ha ha.. I don't like the taste, there is something wrong with the finish. 2.0
The mouthful is thin, weak, acidic. Thousands of tiny bubbles violating my tastebuds in an all out blitz. 2.5
Overall, I did not like this beer at all. I am struggling to finish it.

Poured from a brown 22 oz. bottle. Has a pretty mahogany color with a 1 inch head. Smell is sweet, malty, some dark fruits. Taste is of malts, sweet, kind of mild compared to the smell, a little bit of alcohol is present. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

A Rhinelander beer contract brewed by Minhas. Label depicts a jackalope with tribal tattoos, lol.
Dark brown with amber glints in the light, a half inch of foam on top, some flecks of foam in the glass. Swirling skim across the surface.
A vague raisin or plum sweetness to the aroma, but not much definition or complexity there.
Some astringency, dry earthy roast and light bitterness, lingering residual sweetness. Flavor is ok, seems like a big brown ale more than anything. As it warms, the alcohol is perceptible. Not bad, not great... best thing made by Minhas, but its a contract brew and not a house brand.
Ultimately not really a beer to seek out, and as a budget buy, at nearly $6 locally its not much cheaper than craft bombers or sixers that taste much better... if people are paying less than $3 for this, i've been ripped off :(

This beer was less than expected. At the pour I had thought i stumbled on a gem. Poured a dark mahogany with off white head. That's where the gem lost its luster. The smell was biscuit and banana. . .(strong banana). The initial mouth feel was quite pleasing but the finish was metallic. Struggling. To finish, maybe it needs to age longer, maybe the sink need a drink.... i may have it again, if given...won't be buying this again.(even though i did get it for $2.50).

Okay, so I picked up a 22 of this from Old Farm in Frederick because they had it on a sale for $1.89 a bottle. Hell, the bottle is worth a buck to me to homebrew so how the hell can the beer not be worth 89 cents. Had to try a few of the Minhas beers. Pretty good looking beer, but not sure what I am smelling. But I have had beers with no nose that were tasty. Well, not so much, not the worst beer I have ever had but certainly not what I would call good. The funny thing is that I am trying to figure out if I would buy more for the bottles and the alcohol, I mean, $1.89. Nah, rather save a little liver mileage for something else. That said, gonna use the bottle so nothing lost.

Picked this up on a whim, doesn't look great and the other beer I had by them was terrible.
decent head, creamy 1 finger head, decent lacing, somewhat hazy mahogany bit of light ruby coming through.
Nose some syrupy mess, straw and paper, corn syrup, molasses, little boozy, hint fruity.
Taste is meh but not terribly awful, syrupy corn syrup and molasses, paper, corrugated cardboard, corn stalk starchy, fairly sweet, apple fig and raisin like fruit, date too, light chewy biscuit. Hint of grassy earthy hops in there, slightly herbal, and some boozy flavors. Weird herbal sticky corn stalk earthy paper finish, hint metallic, sticky syrupy mess.
Mouth is med bodied syrupy and over carb.
Overall bleh. Poorly done beer, tastes like an adjunct beer that was oxidized and brewed mostly with corn syrup and straw.
