330ml bottle. This appears to be a contract brew for the deerdummy.com website, via the auspices of the Joseph Huber Brewing company - we all know who that is - at least the obfuscation isn't all that difficult to cut through this time. "Craft brewed and enjoyed since last empty bottle" I made no changes to that quote from the label.
This beer pours a clear, medium golden yellow colour, with one finger of puffy, listlessly foamy, and somewhat bubbly dirty white head, which leaves a single arched array of bleeding rainbow lace around the glass as it quickly dissipates.
It smells of semi-sweet, grainy corn and barley malt, acetone, a mild overripe mushed apple fruitiness, and weak earthy, weedy hops. The taste is gritty mashed rice and corn, a toned-down nail polish plasticity, muted apple and pear fruit salad notes, and subdued earthy, dead leafy hops.
The bubbles are pretty weak, and barely noticeable at times, the body medium-light in weight, and generally smooth, I suppose, the absence of many factors sort of providing this by default. It finishes off-dry, the corny malt kind of running with it, while my favourite chemical factory runoff 'flavour' gets, if not equal, at least ample time alongside.
Not as awful as the usual Minhas dreck, but half of shit is still shit. No real pale ale essences whatsoever, just a simple, sweet, sickly re-iteration of some other stray in their pound, I'm guessing.
