I've been to this place a couple of times before I decided to review it because every time I had a different experience.
The place has an interesting set-up and I guess that goes back to the fact that it used to be a supermarket. Once you walk in there is the bar area right in front with some nice eclectic decor about, what else, but beer.
The bar is long and narrow and its sandwiched by a nice open dining room and on the other side by a nice patio-like beer garden.
The quality of the Schlafly beer has been proven to be one of the best in St. Louis and they had about 11 beers when I attended. I tried the Saison which was nice and spicy and everyone at my table (non-BA types) loved it. I then followed it with a Dry Hopped APA off which I took a growler home because its their hoppiest beer right now (Sep 2010).
There food is always delicious. I had the chicken enchiladas which were yummy and spicy. Bottleworks is a cool place plus its jst steps from my house.

There modern bottleworks facility is definitely worth a visit. They provide a good tour and usually ample refreshments in the sampling room. Excellent food and often have good bluegrass style bands. Their beers are very good, and they do provide a menu that gives you information on them. Selection is fair, very slanted toward IPA. While this is the case, anyone can find something that they can enjoy here. One of my absolute favorite places to go when I lived in the St. Louis area.
