We pour a raspberry-colored brew. It holds half finger tall head of purple/pink bubbles, and this dissipates quickly. Spots and sheets of lacing are left, along with a thick ring of bubbles around the edges. Carbonation is quite active, and there is a good haze to the beer. The nose is serious, with strong vibes of frozen strawberries, and raspberry cotton candy. The malts are even and pale, with light adjuncts. There is poppy seed and pit, giving an earthy vibe to it. With warmth comes sourness, like Smarties candies, giving us thoughts of a light lambic/sour. All of the flavor is packed into the front, leaving the finish surprisingly mild. As we sip, the first flavors are those sour berries from the nose. These sit on a bed of soft, wheaty malts. There are white sugars, enhancing the sweetness, and pulling us to the middle, where there is a peak of sour fruit. There is also the slightest haze of fermented, warm strawberries, as if they had been left sitting out for an hour too long. The middle then drops off quickly, leaving hollow grain to take us to the finish. The malts are soft, with more wheat, and an adjuncty steely grain. The aftertaste is equally as mild, with more of that same grain, and tangs of fruity cotton candy. The body is medium, and the carbonation is almost too high. There is great slurp, pop, and cream to each sip. The mouth is coated with watery grain, and not overly dried by the end. The abv is appropriate, and the beer drinks easily.

Overall, what we enjoyed most about this brew was how fruity and refreshing it was. The flavor is there up front, but it fizzles out appropriately, leaving no sour taste, and a happy mouth. The mouthfeel was soft and creamy, but the bubbles were a bit too much at times. The smell was souring, fruity, and wonderful, and really set things up nicely. The flavor followed through evenly, making for a brew that was certainly pleasant to drink, and something we would certainly get again.

500 ml can served fairly cold into a wine glass. Purchased from a French supermarket for under 2 euros. As with left suddenly I was flooded with grimbergen products so I figured to give a couple a try while the opportunity was available.

Appearance - a purple and pink mixture with a nice finger and a bit of head that has some lasting power and leaves a thin white film of lacing down the sides of the glass. Sort of opaque as it's not clear but not hazy either and there's some visible bubbles to the naked eye.

Smell - some mild blend of cranberries and cherries until the strawberry train takes over and takes you for a ride. Not a lot else but the strawberry aroma, which is sweet but not sickly sweet is rather pleasing.

Taste - sort of like cream soda mixed with some fruits juices. Strawberry, cherry and cranberry are the main proponents but there's almost certainly some raspberry blended in too. The taste is thin and doesn't stay on the palate too long.

Mouthfeel - very creamy as like cream soda otherwise there's a high level of carbonation from small bubbles that gives it the creamy palate and nothing else terribly exciting. The beer is not to sticky which is a plus.

Overall - a pretty tasty fruit beer, but as with many of them, not something I'd want to go to regularly. However the boldness of the strawberry in this sets it apart slightly from others in my mind.

Poured from a 500ml can into a .5l tumbler.

Pours a clear deep red color with a nice pink pillowy head that leaves nice lacing as you drink. The beer is very brightly red colored and also has a pomegranate color to it that looks refreshing. THe aromas are very pronounced fake fruity raspberry and lemon peel aromas, standard for these types of beer so thats where the average taste rating comes in. Mouthfeel is nice spot on with loads of carbonation, a bit thin and astringent on the finish. Overall if you need a fruity beer for a picnic or a girl or something, this is pretty good.
