Served via handpump into a becker glass.
A: Clear, medium amber color with one finger of off-white foam head. Moderate lacing remains on the glass.
S: Rustic grain intermingles with woody aromatic shrubs--a bit like sagebrush. Hops are subdued and slightly earthy.
T: Begins very dry, with crystal malt and mild yeast esters. Acidity is pronounced for the style and mode of service. Yeast influence retreats during the latter half, with mild dark tea flavors emerging during the weakly bitter finish.
M: Thin to medium viscosity, rather leaden on the palate, with very low carbonation.
D/O: A fairly well-executed English-style session ale. Ingredients shine through in an honest fashion, although it could benefit from a bit more traditional yeast character.
