The colour is amber (20 EBC), the liquid hazy like a hefeweizen. The three finger head is white and compact. It sinks slowly leaving thick rich lacing.

The smell is very sweet. Notes of yeast/fermenting beer, minerals, butter/butterscotch and dried flowers. It is more complex than a filtered Czech pils, but not as fresh.

The taste is smooth with some dough and French loaf. Dried flowers, fresh butter, hints of coconut and rye crisp bread. Light bitterness, light to medium body. The aftertaste is semi-sweet with minerals and some iron, quite a lot of dried flowers and wheat dough. The light bitterness got notes of dried flowers and hay. The finish is semi-sweet.

The carbonation is medium to strong; the many mid-sized bubbles are long-lasting. The liquid is somewhat sticky.

A smooth beer, but I like the filtered version better (as I do with Pilsner Urquell).

500ml On-tap at V Cípu, Prague (33Czk):
Cloudy golden with a 1cm, foamy white head that holds well and steady. There is some nice lacing on the sides as well and the beer almost looks creamy, in particular the texture of the head does anyway.

Spicy with some strong banana and yeast notes coming through alongside a little clove and coriander. I could detect some citrus notes, mainly lemon but with a few hints of orange as well.

Yeast and banana coming through alongside some wheat but again these weren't as strong as you'd normally find with a standard wheat beer. There was some coriander and again some clove in there plus plenty of citrus and fruits flavours that gave the beer quite a sweet taste.

Smooth and fruity with lively carbonation and some sweetness. The beer was quite refreshing, particularly under the Czech sun and had a good, wet finish to it with a slight citrus tang.

Quite a nice beer and one that certainly seemed like a wheat beer when I was drinking it, although it was definitely a weakened version of the hefeweizen style with the banana and wheat flavours not as pronounced.
